Titles says it all. But here is my opinion: If Gaara was to have Shukaku sealed inside of him he might have a pretty good chance of defeating Itachi. The only thing though Gaara has to counter Itachi's Susanoo and Amaterasu are his sand, and Itachi would probably find a way to counter it.
