And what exactly is the truth? How is "God" not true? There are different beliefs about God..

"killigng is wrong" = Belief...

BELIEFS ARE WHAT MAKES HUMANS.. HUMANS. Science is just the name of a process nothing more.

Just because we still haven't found it doesn't mean it can never be found. God isn't the truth to our existence because a big sky man didn't make the first woman out of a rib and a talking snake didn't convince her to eat an apple that contained knowledge. If you believe things like this I got a bridge to sell you. Yes that is a belief by some people thanks for illustrating that point. Being human makes humans human belief has nothing to do with that. Yes a process determined to prove beliefs with fact not speculation and good feelings.

But one person can be influenced to Actually think about their beliefs and search and try to find the meaning to what they believe in that I'm happy

As you said earlier people have free will. If they wanted to be theist they would be already. People your getting to change their minds here that were atheist are in times of distress or feeling helpless in some way. It's kind of taking advantage of scared people.

Christians believe that everyone is born with a sin nature which means that our minds and actions are automatically horrible and most of the time selfish and no matter what we do by our actions alone are good enough for God.

This doesn't make any sense though. When I was born, I was born a good kid until I pissed on my doctor 1 minute after being born.

The whole concept of being born with "sin" or whatever just doesn't have any logic.

The reason he gave us free will Is because if we were automatically made to do what he says and to love him automatically and unconditionally means basically our bodies will be programmed to do what ever he wants. And he wants people to love him on their own free will not having them brainwashed or controlled to do it.

Do you believe there is a punishment for those who do not love a god? Because some would say I deserve to be tortured for all eternity (which is in the bible) simply because I do not worship or praise what they believe in.

It's not his job to protect the families we are accountable for own actions. You can't blame God for other people's actions because it's not his doing it's their own will.

You're right. I can't blame your god for the actions of the people committing those crimes. But what I can blame him for is not doing anything to help them. The difference between me and your god is that if I had the opportunity to prevent that from happening, I would.

No prob dude ill try to be clearer. People have free will we agree about this. Everyone is aware of the sides of the argument theist/atheist/agnostic. If they wanted to be theist or atheis they would have made their decision already. Have you heard the expression " there's no atheist in a foxhole"? It means that people who have lived there lives by reason are so afraid of death they change sides out of fear of death. Any atheist here you could possibly convince without actual facts is in some scary part of their life and you are taking advantage of that for recruitment purposes. I don't blame you I wasn't in an extremely religious family so I made my own decisions regarding the topic. You were probably told what you currently believe is the truth over and over again as a child. That's brainwashing children and its wrong.

Yeah thoes who don't accept him are punished yesh I don't think it's fair either if u ask me But Christians don't always praise him but that doesn't mean they're not going to Heaven it just means they sin against God lol and need to ask to be forgived.

Understand what you mean by God not helping and what not.

But I don't know the answers to everything when it comes to Christianity I'm just telling you things I know and I don't know a lot about it. there are a lot of things I don't agree with. Don't think that I'm just some inconsiderate horrible science bashing Christian or anything I'm very open and willing to learn new things from an unbiased view.

Please don't be mad at me or anything when it comes to something that I posted. If i offended anyone i apologize. i just interpreted what I know from what I know in the Bible. There are a lot of adults who can fully explain what's in there so how do you expect your 17-year-old dude to fully fathom this works. :D

Not trying to guilt trip anyone into believing Christianity I am simply interpreting what I have seen in the Bible I'm not trying to make people choose a side I'm simply telling it what I know. And yes I did grow up around the Bible and how it was taught to be true seeing as my dad made me go to Christian elementary school and Christian high school. But I'm not simpleminded man I have looked into other religions to see what they are about or other views in life. I encourage people to go out there and not find their own reason I know that what I said is not the Christian way. most of the things I base my life off of are Christian morals such as what is right and wrong.
Other than that I have a pretty open mind when it comes to worldviews. Again I apologize if I offended you or anyone else in my post it was not my intentions at all. All I was doing was showing my religious perspective on some things.

Sure thing, I'll answer ya.

Christians will argue about Original Sin. Like in the Genesis story where Adam and Eve ate the fruit and betrayed the god in the bible, supposedly all future generations of people would be considered born with sin.

This is illogical. For one, if the god you believe in is a forgiving god, why is he condemning every single generation in the history of humanity for the sins that their distant ancestor committed? If you believe in this concept, you too are looking at people in this way. For example, nazis were horrible people, but you don't condemn all German people for the evil actions committed by their country, nor do you condemn the sons or daughters of the nazis because some of them turned out to be pretty good people. The crimes of one group of people do not carry over to another.

Yeah thoes who don't accept him are punished yesh I don't think it's fair either if u ask me But Christians don't always praise him but that doesn't mean they're not going to Heaven it just means they sin against God lol and need to ask to be forgived.

Hmm..in all honesty, if you don't agree with things and you don't believe it is unfair, why worship a god like that then? Or why even believe a god like that exists?

But I don't know the answers to everything when it comes to Christianity I'm just telling you things I know and I don't know a lot about it. there are a lot of things I don't agree with. Haha dude, don't sweat it. You're actually pretty chill and very open-minded. That's totally respectable.

I'm not saying this to sway you into a certain decision or anything, but I was 17 when I started reading the bible more and thinking seriously about these things. A year later, after looking for answers and questioning things, here I am.

And you said why believe in a god that exists like that. Some may say your hopes and faith into a higher power like that is stupid but since I've done it it has helped me. Im not be the same for others but going to him has helped me through my difficulties. Its just that my friends, my family, different material goods, made me happy but not for long, but going to him made me feel better on the inside and he made me feel like there is a burden off my back. For once I felt joy lol I know it sounds cheesy but that's how I felt.

I don't believe your trying to guilt trip anyone (your religion kinda brainwashes you to so int unintentional on your part), I also don't believe your simpleminded geniuses can be brainwashed into believing anything if you get to them when they're young and impressionable and you didn't offend me friend. One thing I would like to add as we are sharing view points and you are interested in different ones. There is no right nor a wrong they are merely the opinions of the majority. I may think its right to eat people you may think its wrong. Who can make that absolute decision? Who's to say who's right? Don't say god. This excludes that possibility and is about how morals are whatever you agree to.

I'm not sure what's happened to you man, but don't take credit away from yourself.

If you've gotten through some tough times, give yourself some credit. Build up your self-esteem and some confidence. Don't pass it all off when it's something you've accomplished.
