I feel like whatever created that chart was pretty simpleminded in some areas and was purposely bashing religion. The best view over this is a unbiased view

excuse him. I'm actually sitting on his brain right now!
You people are the reason why I made the thread. If you haven't studied religion and science, don't talk against about them being enemies.

It is pointless. I'm on the side of religion over science. I'm not a religious person I don't go to church but I recognize/believe that god does exist. Big Bang Theory and all these other accusations are false from my point of view they can't be proven. I know for a fact that I am not a chimpanzee.

Just because you don't understand evolution doesn't make it not true. It's common even among catholics in Rome to accept evolution.

ot: religion and science are opposite sides of a spectrum. It's an interesting topic, when opposite clash. Take Naruto and Sasuke. The threads comparing them gets hot because fans of these characters are opposites.

Religion is one big system where the Creator creates mankind which consists biologically and traditionally human minds. As a mere being, humans tend to search and explore most of their curiosity and try to balance whatever they witnessed either by rationalize or searching for any answer that could make them satisfied.

The truth of science is it is a part of human belief, in whatever necessary situation and given problems, there's always a solution. And then, for some other things that their mind couldn't comprehend or witness literally such as air, wind and soul, they always tried to approach it just like some other stuff. Basically, there are lots of things that science couldn't answered as science is only a METHOD, there's a lot of method of solving or believing things.

In the other word, religion provided every answer people tried to search or look for, you just have to search for the truth yourself or the best religion if you the one who didn't want to embrace any sort of religious belief. One thing you have to keep in mind, there's always an answer to everything when the times come. You can quote me on this one day.

Aside from Creationism vs Evolution, there is NO REASON why religion and science can't coexist.

Studying science doesn't automatically make you an atheist and being catholic or whatever doesn't mean you have to disregard every scientific theory

Yet accurate. Try to go against a religious person can be boring, sometimes they're just to dumb to accept the facts.

What scientific knowledge? Like how the bible states that all flying insects have four legs, when they actually all have six? Or how the value of pi in the bible is inaccurate? Or how the Earth could not exist without the Sun, yet the bible says the Earth was somehow "created" beforehand? >.>

Science isn't something you believe or don't believe in. Science is something you just understand.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;" (Proverbs 3:5)

Clearly the bible does not want you to use reason.

I guess you only read the first account in the bible. Of course are understand is not that of Gods. How can we understand something when we are refuting it? I don't know where you get the Pi and insect legs from or whatever bible you are reading of you actually are reading it? The bible is not meant to be used as arguments and debates. It's a beneficial way of teaching.

Easiest way I can explain it. Science can't prove anything otherwise.

We are born sinners. So we make mistakes and sometimes it's good to have guidance. Nothing wrong with that?

Trying to go against a scientific person can be just as boring and especially if they don't know anything but they're just refusing to believe in religion and don't don't have any facts to back up their argument legitimately.

Wrong, Buddhism does not believe in the "Almighty God".

If you have read world history.. you would know all the Kingdoms of specific religion have used science.

Religion is the BELIEF SYSTEM, the way you live.

Science explains how things work....

RELIGIONS USE SCIENCE...

Most people don't know what a religion is.. instead the automatically pull up christian believes as religious believes.. Makes no sense.

I'm not lecturing you I was just making some facts based off of observation. No need to get so defensive I apologize if I upset you.

Fantastic answer and question. I mean't that the people who support the sides of religion are opposite sides of the spectrum. One prefers the hard rational thought, the other ideal faith.

Science: Well I'm guessing you don't want the actual definition because you could easily look it up. My definition of science is coming across an observation and trying to prove it. Now theres also theoretical science that is proved w/ theorems but that's different.

Religion: it's faith, and it applies to everyone differently.

Yeah, that's also true. We scientists just sit you believers in front of our full-of-science computers and leave the internet to do our explanations. The dumber the believer is, the longer will have to stay sitting there. Sometimes it can take ages.

Actually the bible has scientific knowledge in there made thousands of years ago before it was proven.

Some people just believe in science nothing wrong with that. Can't go wrong with the ever growing advances in the world. But there is always questions that science can't produce. And it's deemed impossible.

Nothing wrong with both assets. People just overreact.

I guess you only read the first account in the bible. Of course are understand is not that of Gods. How can we understand something when we are refuting it?

Hm..do you think you could rephrase this? I had trouble understanding. :$

I don't know where you get the Pi and insect legs from or whatever bible you are reading of you actually are reading it?

"All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you. There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground. Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper. But all other winged creatures that have four legs you are to detest." (Leviticus 11:20-23)

"He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it." (1 Kings 7:23)

The bible is not meant to be used as arguments and debates. It's a beneficial way of teaching.

You said that the bible has scientific knowledge. However, it has scientific inaccuracies, things that are logically impossible, things that are factually wrong, etc. I would not want to be taught false information.

We are born sinners. So we make mistakes and sometimes it's good to have guidance. Nothing wrong with that?

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, but I wasn't born anything except a normal baby like everyone else.

But someone who is well-rounded in science and an Bible or religious knowledge is overall a pretty smart person because understanding the Bible is a challenge by itself. Not only that they know how to put up a good argument.
