Guy think about it! If itachi wanted he could defeat jiraiya but he was saving his last bit of health for sasuke..... And kisame-itachi was the most powerful after pain and konan so yea if itachi wanted he could pwn jiraiya but we will never know.... 2 amazing ninjas

True, true. But I still beleive Jyraiya is (or was) superior.Of course Jiraiya was stronger than itachi after all he was a sannin but not because of your thread
Jiraiya was stronger but with kisame to support him itachi sure had an edge...
I mean, they're both strong. They'd both go out and have a good fight. Why be pickey and argue about this? I mean, Jyraiya's dead and if he wasn't (just to be silly and say he's alive) then Itachi wouldn't kill/fight him.
One-on-one I'd say Jyraiya. But with Kisame with him, that would be a tough one.

Even people who provide facts rarely ever show the ones that show opposition to their points.
Jyraiya's dead. And now, I'm kind of glad because it helped Naruto grow and leap fore ward in skill, power, character, and the ability to lead. I'm just glad Kabuto didn't get a sample of Jyraiya's DNA. If he was brought back, I'd be SOOO ticked off.

I remember Jiraiya said that thing to Itachi and Itachi just backs off. I think Itachi doesn't want so much commotion after all his purpose from the very start isn't capturing the 9 tails.
Itachi would have still attacked Jiraiya, he didn't say he wouldn't kill anyone from Konoha. He would have if he was ordered to by Nagato. He was in Akatsuki to find out more about Madara, so he could kill him.

Nd, i dn't see how jiraya cn hit itachi even in sm while itachi's susanoo is on, coz yata mirror cn blck anythng...... Nd, itachi cn finish off jiraya wit his tsukiyomo, amaterasu, nd itachi could also use kotoamatsukami as he already had shisui's eye's nd with kisame around jiraya would have bcome a cheese sandwich, which itachi nd kisame wud luv to eat.......

3. kisame stated that with the power itachi possesess they could've stayde and fight, but itachi said that there was no need and he was already weakened after usine the ms on kakashi and sasuke.
