Yeah that guy who posted that kind of failed really hard. I am pretty sure Itachi has beaten Kage level or above ninja. Even now there isn't really a kage that can take him on. I love Itachi but Kishi made him kind of OP when he made Tsukuyomi unbreakable except by an Uchiha with a sharingan, as there aren't many of those guys left. xd

Guys, let be straight here. I will just brief this.. Jaraiya was surpass by naruto and sasuke was not even close to itachi yet. Still naruto never admit that he can defeat sasuke with the sage mode (the highest power of jaraiya). Naruto said if he cant master the teast beat mode, he will never defeat him. My point is that Jaraiya can never beat Itachi no matter how hard he try..

so where do you get the idea that itachi's genjutsu wont work on a person who admits having no skill at genjutsu, and admits it is his weakness.... just cause he's a sanin huh?... just cause your a fan?...and if jaraiya is not in sage mode right off the bat, itachi wins pretty quickly... if jaraiya is in sage mode at the beginning of the fight its more interesting... also, what are you saying is going to nulify susanoo now?... and how can you see an amaterasu coming while not looking into his eyes trying to defend against tsukuyomi?... i beleive itachi is a really bad match up against jaraiya... mainly because of the genjutsu abilities... in sage mode he has a better chance... but seeing how he needs to charge a summon to become a sage, he's done before it happens... and just incase you bring up jaraiya's summons, they dont mean anything against itachi's sharingan... i'm not even a sharingan fan and i can see that jaraiya loses this battle...

He did use Amaterasu when he burned that Toad mouth trap.

Yeah, but the databook has access to Kishimoto who probably made the statistics anyway, who likely knew what Itachi would be like in full health.

It would be stupid to post his statistics sick.

It doesn't say in the databook: Itachi's statistics (sick). We also don't know if he was healthy or not during that time. We knew he was sick by the Sasuke fight. He could have gotten sick like 6 months before Sasuke and him fought and only took medicine to preserve his life up until then. Zetsu only noticed that Itachi was sick during THAT fight anyway....

Itachi was not that stupid if he whould have tried to help konoha from inside he could be cought((kisame, nagato were not stupid- only madara know his secret)), the secret of uchiha was more precious to him then life of other konoha's ninja.he whould have killed kakashi (with kisame) if guy did'nt have come there.

it's true jiraiya is good with the toads but we've seen itachi one shot nagato's gaint dog summon with amaterasu, we also saw how he blinded summons with just kunais against nagato, we know the sharingan can tame summons (sasuke tamed manda with genjutsu and every one knows itachi is better than sasuke in using genjutsu). And i don't see any summon penetrating susanoo's defence so summons won't be of much help against itachi. Yes it's true jiraiya has a wide varieties of ninjutsu but that doesn't mean he'll auto win against itachi... for example kakashi in part one copied more than 1000 jutsus yet he lost to itachi, it doesn't matter how many jutsus a ninja possess what matters most is how he use it.

Im pretty sure Itachi said that to Kisame to have an excuse to retreat and abort the mission. It was all planned by him, since he didnt want to capture Naruto, i think the genjutsu to the girl aswell was not to take Jiraiya out of the picture, but just for him to notice Naruto was in danger, well thats my theory because im pretty sure Itachi is stronger than Jiraiya.

When we talk about kisame he is no match (or bad match) for j-man ,i think he whould have died in the stomach of rock frog(if itachi did't have help him) + he use opponent chakra to gain power(he whould just turned into frog with samehade)
In sage mode genjutsu is not a problem(because of maa and paa)+jman is a sensor in sage mode+infinite chakra

Conclusion​

It is clear that Jiraiya has been portrayed as stronger all along. Itachi's techniques like Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, and Susano'o are perfectly countered by Jiraiya's method of fighting by looking at the feet, a super-reflexive shunshin when checking the Sharingan for a build-up to Amaterasu, and Yomi Numa, respectively. Itachi's other Sharingan Genjutsu won't work on a Sannin. Thus, Jiraiya will be able keep his hands clasped together for that mere minute to enter Hermit Mode, and if base Jiraiya can't just dodge all of Itachi's attacks and techniques himself in that minute without forming any hand seals, Gamabunta will easily hold Itachi off for a minute as Itachi has shown to be incapable of swiftly defeating large reptiles or amphibians, and the Sharingan has been shown incapable of instantly putting them in to a controlling Genjutsu. So I have to say, guys, I'm an Itachi fan, but it seems Jiraiya, like Itachi, is significantly stronger than Orochimaru, and even stronger than Itachi himself. That one time Orochimaru slammed him in to the ground without arms, incapacitating him long enough to severely wound Tsunade, was just because Jiraiya had bad chakra control, and was limited to his less hyped jutsu like Yomi Numa where as Orochimaru could use most of his jutsu without seals... even if he told Kabuto that he lost nearly all of the jutsu that he had ever learned along with his arms. So yeah, I'm sure Orochimaru would say similar things about Jiraiya, like that he was stronger than him, or that it was impossible to defeat him, instead of the opposite, and I'm positive that Orochimaru would avoid Jiraiya like he avoided Itachi, especially if he didn't have arms. It's all there in black and white.

I agree! itachi feared jiraya but we dont know who would win! they are both dead and both were really strong!

1. Itachi never wanted to kill any leaf ninjas.

2. He joined in Akatsuki to have a pact with its leader (Madara) not to touch Konoha. He is a good guy after all.

3. He never wanted to capture Naruto that time. His only purpose being there is to say to the elders that "i am still alive." Meaning they should not hurt Sasuke by any means or suffer the consequences.

After this incident, Kisame knew that capturing the nine tails was never really their purpose back then.

Itachi and Kisame will win against Jiraiya if they go all out.

Itachi vs Jiraiya is really hard to tell.

This versus threads involving characters that haven't face at all is pointless. We really have no proof who will win. What we only have are speculations on what would happen depending on jutsu's and their capacity to fight. At the end of the day, what we have are weak arguments and biased judgments.

Speculations can never be proven facts until they happen.
