God is not subject to the same rules as us. He is the creator and can take away what he creates. So killing is not a matter. That is the way I see it as a religious person. It's probably the same for other people who believe in God.

If there is a God, then he defines what is evil and good and could even make us feel good about killing and feel evil by saving others. It's pretty stupid to bound him by our morals.

A parent is a human, and God established the morals for humans (in a religious view)

Also, the way God creates and the way a parent does isn't the same.

The concept of theism was created to explain the unexplainable. Religion was created to use theism to create discomfort, then offer comfort from this, and capitalize while doing so. Basically the same underlying aspect of the concept of Santa Claus, or the Boogey Man. In my opinion.

No that's not true. You misplacing their words. I've seen most people say they rather go to hell than worship a God who allows suffering and evil .

Personally, I'm indifferent when it comes to the concept of religion. The problem I see comes, not from the teachings of religions, but the intolerance and stubbornness of those who practice regularly. Now I'm not generalizing as I know many people who practice devoutly and love their lives by their religion's teachings and live happily along others who don't worship.

The growing trend I've noticed (especially on NB) is that everyone has an opinion on religion and when it comes to presenting your argument there is usually a condescending tone (on both sides) as to whether religion is a good or bad influence on society as a whole.

To me religion is about faith. Pure and simple. Faith in someone or something greater than our own existence.

Recently my mum said to be that she's going mental like me, by not sleeping at night! XD I think that's one of the side effects of being an atheist like me. OT: My general point was that at the end of the day, it's up to the individual if they want to follow a religious pathway or not.
