NB's View: Religion

I like what I believe in to be honest. Religion isn't bad when you don't look at the "negative aspects".

This is a terrible ideology. Committing crimes isn't bad when you ignore the negative aspects of them either.

Religion is belief, some people uses it as a part of their Energy. But in the end....religion will unite human beings.

I'm "Muslim".

But I don't really practice. I believe in God but that's about it. I don't like religious people telling me I'm not religious enough, nor do I like atheists that tell me I'm an idiot for believing in God etc.

I don't really like having an extra set of rules on top of everything going on with my life.

While I'm not religious, I do think that it has its uses. We actually progressed far knowing that the warmth of an afterlife kept us going. I mean why invent stuff if you thought you were just going to wither in a hole in a ground?

I strongly believe in God. I used to question Him and wonder why all these bad things happen but my mind changed after watching this movie, called The Encounter. It literally changed how I thought about all the horrible things in the world.

Lol - You don't need to question God. The bad things that occur in this world are a result of the cosmic law known as the law of "cause and effect". The bad things that happen to me is my fault, not God's fault. It is of an ignorant person to blame God for the bad things in life people go through.

But you're saying if you ignore the bad parts of it, it's good. So why can't I ignore all of the things that makes crime bad and say it's good? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying religion is as bad as a crime, I'm just trying to point out the hole in that reasoning.

Never said religion was bad. Said the ideology is bad, the ideology being ignoring all the things that makes something bad to label it good.

I'll try to answer this the best that I can I guess. And yes, I know you're not really comparing Religion and Crime but rather my ideology I think.

The only bad things I refer to are those who commit extreme acts or try to make the religion bad for their own gain. That's why in my opinion Religion is practically good despite the controversies over the years. Crime is a different case however. Whether it be terrorism or as small as a robbery, that's on the person who did the deed so crime has no benefit to anything unless if it's money of course.

I'm pretty sure Donald Got Trumped was insinuating that there are, obviously, bad things in all that exists, however if the good outweighs the negative aspects, they are worth overlooking. You can't compare Religion, or just about anything else, to crime.

By my logic? No. I never said the negatives>positives or vice versa. I'm dismissing the ideology of "It's good if you ignore what makes it bad." It's not just about how many negatives and positives, but how great they are.

And technically, yeah, you SHOULDN'T eat birthday cake because it's unhealthy. But there's a lot of stuff we SHOULDN'T be doing that I'm not gonna stop doing.

I agree 98%. Not only is it because of cause and effect, i think it's because of satan and the way he has corrupted many people in this world creating all these evil things yet there's still love and goodness in this world.

I understand where your coming from however, speaking from the point of view of Christianity, if Adam and Eve had not sinned or become tempted by the serpent,devil, then I honestly think that this place we call Earth would be as God had pictured it. IMO. I don't know about the other religions though.
