1. Do you really think Danzo would let the Uchiha stay in ANBU or Root by the time of the coup or coup d'état (not "coup'd")? So your first, I don't know, reason I guess, is flawed.
2. It doesn't matter if they were friends or not, kid. They are Shinobi, they protect the village and Hokage no matter what. They would fight the Uchiha.
3. The 3rd and the Elders did the Uchiha clan a service when they kept the coup hidden. If they told the village about the coup the civilians would get involved and some might die trying to fight the Uchiha themselves. Instead Itachi decided to become a criminal and keep the Uchiha name intact and honorable.
Your last two "paragraphs" are irrelevant and unimportant. If the massacre hadn't happen the world wouldve been plunged into war. The Uchiha being "right" or "wrong" is also irrelevant. The other villages wouldve destroyed Konoha in it's time of weakness and a world war would have begun.
