sasukes life has been so much harder than obitos. His parents/clan murdered by his brother, quest for revenge which he later finds out has been a lie this whole time. He also shows much more mercy compared to obito who slaughtered thousands of people.

Obito thinks he can revived the people he's killed, also, Sasuke had people to turn to after his family died, for five whole years he could have gotten help, for five whole year people wanted to help him, and for five whole year he rejected their efforts, that's on him. The only person Obito could turn to was Madara, who f**ked him up even worse.

The fact that he called Minato out for not recognizing him confirms that he may have intended to do this when he fought him directly, but he became even more embittered when the closest thing he had to a father didn't even recognize him (given everything that happened! he probably decided that Minato simply never cared for him, Rin, or Kakashi). Also, their confrontation took place about one or two years after the battle at Kannabi Bridge, by comparison, it took Anakin Skywalker about two days to decide he wanted to kill the jedi and his best friend (Obi-Wan Kenobi).

Edit: Also, Sasuke chose to let it consume him, he had five whole years of people reaching out to him, hell, people were reaching out to him the very next day after the Uchiha Massacre, he purposely shut them out. Obito just had Madara's insane plan, and the delusions he put in his head to go by.

Except the clan was Sasuke's world. They were segregated after all. All of his friends and family were there. Can you really blame a kid for closing himself off after losing that. Sasuke only had about half a year of real human interaction and they didn't even try to remove the idea of revenge from Sasuke until the night before he left. Sasuke let revenge consume him since he was eight years old. It was his reason for living for 4 years and was reminded of it by Itachi's tsukuyomi. I doubt anything could have stopped Sasuke.

But, that's pretty much the same as Obito, all he had was Rin, Obito, Minayo, and Kushina. He lost Rin and Kakashi, seemed to decide that Minato never really cared about him, and Madara taught him not to care about anyone, which is why he could care less about Kushina. Obito said he searched the world trying to find something to prove him wrong, but kept finding people like Danzo and Orochimaru who just proved him right, on top of this, Madara convinced him he was some sort of savior. And, like I kept saying Sasuke could seek help.

Edit: Also, that's wrong, it's shown that adults tried to help him the day after the Massacre, and likely for a long time after that, when he never let them, they likely figured he wasn't so consumed by it, Kakashi finally realized it and tried his best.

Exactly, he felt that even the Sage would've done what he was doing, hell, he implies that he thinks of himself as the Second Coming (Savior imagery) of the Sage.

He would've been wrong since Madara was the actual second SO6P.He was the one who laid out the plans for IT,Obito just followed it.

My point was that Obito definitely saw himself as some sort of Messiah, knowing Madara's track record, he probably thought Madara would use the IT selfishly, so decided that he would be the true savior by stopping Madara and casting Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Edit: Also, like Otibo said, Madara told Obito he was the savior.

@bold The night before he left. Sasuke was consumed by it. And I never said that adults didn't try to help Sasuke, but he isolated himself like many trauma victims do. Sasuke felt like he was left alone and he acted as such.
Also, Obito didn't search the world to prove himself wrong. In fact if you go by the anime his first stop was Nagato and when Yahiko's friends found out what happened they tried to help, but to keep them from stopping Nagato from experiencing true Pain he killed the former members of Akatsuki. In that case Obito personally worked things to make himself seem right.

I suppose so, though I was going by the manga, the chapter right after his defeat, when he says he "walked around the world on behalf of Madara" and everything he saw confirmed his belief, he outright says he strained to see good in the world, but couldn't. In regards to the anime example, as an example of how he believes he can revive anyone he kills, he explicitly takes pity on them and says he'll reunite them all in IT.

If Obito really cared about finding something to prove Madara wrong then he could have supported Yahiko's dream. IMO Obito had the same mentality as Madara. They would say that the world was in darkness, and it was beyond help, but all they would do is contribute to it.

I never said he was good or right, I'm pointing out how he thought, he went against Yahiko because he felt Rin's death proved that Yahiko's method failed, and he felt he could bring the orphans together again, thus justifying Yahiko's death. He did get colder later on, as more of Madara seeped out and Obito died out little by little (note he apologized to the Akatsuki members before killing them).

he was warming up to his team until itachi came back or have you forgotten? he beat up sasuke, told him he is weak and how he lacks hatred, tortured him and left him in tsukuyomi. you expect after all that sasuke should just forget about it? no he had to get stronger, he had to avenge his family. you have been saying how obito was being groomed by madara but you seem to forget itachis actions towards sasuke and also orochimaru tempting him with power, his cm that he had to deal with. add the fact that his clan was the most important thing to him and revenge was all he lived for, dont simplify his situation.

Obito should've had a larger backstory, it seems kinda extreme to destroy the world because of 1 girl. If he was like Naruto and had no friends and was psychologically distrubed since he was a kid, that would've been better in addition to Rin's death.

If we go by what we know of him, he basically was, he didn't have friends, which would naturally lead to an obsession with the first person to show him affection.
