the Yata Mirror & Totasuka are items/weapons of the gods. I never said power

and their claims are still true with just the one exception, which are each other. Hence why the person who wields them both are practically invincible because the only thing that can either pierce the defense or block the attack are in the possesion of Itachi

No they're not! Not in Naruto

Yata and Totsuka are taken from japanese legends, that doesn't mean they are weapons of the gods in Naruto.

and how can you make that accusation? You can't state that they are the only exception because you yourself don't have full knowledge of their properties or the omniscient knowledge of the Naruto world.

Having a paradox cancels out their meaning.....

they're supernatural weapons i,e otherworldly

you can't name a single other item that can block the Sword of Totsuka or break the defense of the Yata Mirror

the paradox is only created when referring these supernatural weapons going against each other ut doesn't cancel out its meaning. Take the series Highlander for example; a show about Immortals battling for supreme power. The fact that they could be killed by decapitation doesn't negate the fact that they're immortals....call the two weapons a plot hole

no immortal and invincible are two different things......immortal means that one can live forever, not that he can't be killed

and lets see Amaterasu is said to burn through anything right? So it should burn through Yata....amaterasu is the power of the gods as you said and in japanse myth Amaterasu is the one who created the yata shield.

Kabutowari is said to break all defenses

Madara's Susanoo is said to break all creation

The Kiba swords are said to cut through anything

Actually Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines immortal as exempt from death, exempt from oblivion. If you can be killed, you're not exempt from death. To be killed is to taste death.

Kabutwari can break all mortal defenses, can't touch a supernatural weapon. Also the source of that information on Kabutowari came from Suigetsu who's frame of reference is inferior to that of Zetsu. Suigetsu knows nothing of the spiritual weapons and Yata Mirror and was coming from that perspective.

Perfect Susano'o may be another exception to the Yata rule, idk. But Susano'o is a diety after all...another Shinto god....when you enter supernatural powers or beings into the equation it changes everything

Given that there's barely anything that can counter these supernatural weapons short of another supernatural power or supernatural weapon, i don't see how it can be underestimated. they are as close to the ultimate weapons you can have

Kabutowari said it breaks all defenses.....it never said it breaks only mortal ones.

How do you know what Suigetsu knows?

having exceptions to the "Yata" rule means that Yata can't repel everything.

also can Totsuka pierce the Earth and seal it? No.....so Totsuka can't pierce and seal everything either.....which is like I said, their legends are embelished.

It's pretty safe to assume that Suigetsu knows nothing of the spiritual weapons given that his only expertise is that of the Seven Swordsmen & their weapons; otherwise he's aloof to the greater things of the shinobi world.

where as Zetsu has such a greater frame of reference. there isn't much of anything he's not aware of

Zestu frame of reference > Suigetsu

ok so you believe everything that zetsu says.....so Totsuka can indeed pierce through the Earth and seal it then?

If Orochimaru got hit with a real sword, it probably would have killed him.....he didn't even bother to dodge the hit because Itachi attacked as he was monologuing.

I don't know how old this thread is, but Orochimaru described getting pierced by Totsuka Blade as a "puny attack" and literally smiled at Itachi before realizing what it actually was...

well to be fair, I think if any character gets stabbed in the head, they would die.

Maybe, maybe not. It is Naruto after all.

the only way characters usually survive fatal attacks is if they substitute like Orochimaru most of the time or if they have a healing factor like Tsunade

characters are still vulnerable, I mean Madara almost died from Hashirama's sword wound.....in fact we still don't even know he survived.

You can block a sword though you can't block totsuka. Dumb ass argument. And if it slashes you I'm pretty sure the user is going to stop the sword and keep it in you to seal you and even if he doesn't you're still dead. Notice how it took totsuka to seal Orochimaru? Would a regular sword be able to do that?

Yes you can block Totsuka blade, the fact that it can slash Orochimaru's head proves that it's still has physical contact. Might not be able too with a regular kunai or sword but if you case it with chakra then it can. Susanoo chakra hand can hold it after all. So Sasuke's Susanoo swords can block Itachi's. cut off Orochimaru's head and he's dead, no connection of his brain to his body to use the shedding jutsu.

People believe that because Totsuka can seal whatever it pierces, that it's the most powerful weapon in Naruto.

But what's the difference between getting stabbed by a sword and getting hit with Totsuka? The outcome is essentially the same.....except Totsuka only seals you and a real sword would kill you.

Also Totsuka only seals what it pierces, not what it slashes.....if it slashes an opponent, it will just kill them.

The only advantage Totsuka has is that it can work on Edo Tensei while a real sword wouldn't do a whole lot.

Not really, it can be stopped by chakra base items if kunai or swords can't. KM chakra arm caught regular swords slashes so what's to stop BM form? Sasuke's Susanoo sword can stop it too since it's chakra base. Nothing in Naruto doesn't have weaknesses.

I would like to make a correction. I don't think the Sword of Totsuka can pierce anything
Rater it can seal anything it pierces but can't pierce anything
Although the fact that it has no physical form should make it capable of going through almost any solid object except the Yata Mirror....kinda impossible for a solid object to stop a non-corporeal thing from going through a corpreal object

I would still take Madara's weapon over the sword of Totsuka myself if I had to choose for the record
But their wouldn't be another weapon (not includinging jutsus) that I would pick over the Sword of Totsuka other than Madara's Susano'o...just talking about weapons
But I would take other jutsus or KG's over the Sword of Totsuka

You may think you have a sound argument here, especially because you use such profound logic. But what you cease to realize is that NB users are going to let a silly little thing like logic get in the way of their argument.... GL convincing fan boys that Totsuka blade is overrated/niche.

It's true, Totsuka is vastly overrated.

It's truly only useful against immortals.

Against any other opponent, getting stabbed in the chest with a giant sword is going to end the fight whether it's a magical or not.

if amaterasu was as hot as the sun, then it would have wiped out every being on the planet.....also it would burn faster.

When amaterasu hit the samurai, they were burning for a good 10 minutes and didn't even burn through their armor

Indeed.

It's just all empty hype, Kishimoto could make a kunai sound unstoppable.

Hell, it's stated that Chou Oodama Rasengan can hollow a mountain if it explodes. Haven't happened, but if we take it as fact, then it's about as powerful as a Bijuudama.

Saying one's true but the other isn't is hypocritical.

Except it has to be physical to seal something... or hurt something.

you're assuming that the only stabs a sword can strike is in the chest
A regular sword stabbing in the shoulder blade for example just injures, like in the case of Sasuke stabbing Yamato in their first meeting
Stabbing with the Sword of Totsuka in the toe wins the fight. So the Sword of Totsuka beats any sword cause it can win a fight by just stabbing an opponent's ear

But I would take the following over the Sword of Totsuka

Perfect Susano'o of Madara
Rinnegan
Kotoamatsukami

I would imagine that Totsuka has to actually stick in you to seal you, particularly if you notice that it didn't instantly seal Orochimaru or Nagato.

A sword THAT big isn't going to stab your toe, it's going to sever it. Same thing with any other body part.

A sword that big stabbing you in the shoulder is still going to go through your torso, and if it didn't seal you then it would kill you.

well to be fair I didn't put enough effort into the argument and made it within a few minutes.....it was just a thought I had and wanted to people to ponder on

I'm well aware that convincing people of this is nearly impossible, but hopefully they might eventually see the bigger picture.

All I'm saying is all thwe Sword of Totsuka has to due is pierce any part of the body, something as small as the ear, and you automatically win

No other sword can do that. As you mentioned another sword of that size would just severe it as you mentioned but not win
