People believe that because Totsuka can seal whatever it pierces, that it's the most powerful weapon in Naruto.

But what's the difference between getting stabbed by a sword and getting hit with Totsuka? The outcome is essentially the same.....except Totsuka only seals you and a real sword would kill you.

Also Totsuka only seals what it pierces, not what it slashes.....if it slashes an opponent, it will just kill them.

The only advantage Totsuka has is that it can work on Edo Tensei while a real sword wouldn't do a whole lot.

your premise is "get stabbed & you die"
Not true in all cases. There are countless scenerios of people getting stabbed and not dying. It all depends on where the sword pierces you; is it a vital organ, yada yada. YYou can have a sword pierce your arm and go on to live 50 years later. A sword can pierce your leg, ear, stomach, shooulder - none of these are fatal injuries when inflicted by a sword. It's only if the sword hits a majr organ or if it's such a deep piercing/stab that causes major internal bleeding that isn't treated properly in time. But a sword piercing you in and of itself is nt major. Heck, even Yamato was stabbed by Sasuke at the start of Part II and lived to tell the tale. But had that been the Sword of Totsuka, that simple piercing of the should blade would have been the end of Yamato

Those same piercings when done by the Sword of Totsuka, though not fatal wounds, will result in being sealed which is essentially gonna have the same results as dying in that you're removed from the present reality....and it can be a simple piercing of the ear lobe and boom you're done for

So the Sword of Totsuka is superior to any traditional sword in that you don't have to go for a fatal blow to finish off your opponent. You just gotta give them a little cut, piercing that skin in the least and boom, game over

The same break down in your premise of slashing falls apart for the same reason. Not all slashes of a blade kills. A slash on the arm, leg or side of the body in and of itself doesn't kill; namely because not all blades have the ability to produce fatal results when it slashes. Depending on the slash, many or most just produce sharp cuts. Like in the Bruce Lee movie, Chinese Connection, the final boss fighter in that Japanese dojo took a slash across Bruce Lee's chest with his samurai blade and all it did was leave a cut across Lee's character chest that I'm sure later produced a nice scar on the character, but not fatal. In fact, Lee's character was able to continue the fight not prob and finish off the guy. So not all slashes kill

The Sword of Kotsuka is really only as good as the user who wields it. Just putting a sword in someone's hand doesn't make them dangerous if they don't know how to use it. The Sword of Totsuka is the ultimate sword but only makes it a great weapon when in the hands of someone who is good with handling a sword in battle

the only difference between itachi fapboys and normal people is that itachi fapboys believe totsuka can pierce anything but normal people believe it can't...! just like kusanagi(don't remember correct name) sword of orochimaru couldn't pierce 4 tailed naruto, what makes you think totsuka can...? it was also a spiritual weapon...! and i think was more praised for piercing anything....! so totsuka is indeed overrated...! it's never been used against a defence...

that's true for any attack...if you're not faster than the target in order to land it

There's only a slew of ninja who could avoid it if it's being wielded by an inferior ninja

But in the hands of Itach, Madara or Minato nobody avoids being hit with Totsuka and game over

Speed feats from a sword? unheard of. Its speed feats are all a matter of the speed of the person wielding it...and in the hands of Itachi makes it a one shot defeat easy against most ninja. Can't think of too many ninja as fast as him except maybe A or Madara
