Totsuka is very overrated

People believe that because Totsuka can seal whatever it pierces, that it's the most powerful weapon in Naruto.

But what's the difference between getting stabbed by a sword and getting hit with Totsuka? The outcome is essentially the same.....except Totsuka only seals you and a real sword would kill you.

Also Totsuka only seals what it pierces, not what it slashes.....if it slashes an opponent, it will just kill them.

The only advantage Totsuka has is that it can work on Edo Tensei while a real sword wouldn't do a whole lot.

We know for a fact that it can only seal what it pierces, not slashes......this was demonstrated by Itahci when he fought Orochimaru's 8 headed Snake


The limits of what it can seal is unknown, but I doubt it can seal something like the juubi.


However, Totsuka against a regular opponent would not be any different than using a real sword.

Note: Before Itachi saw Orochimaru he was slashing the Hydra. Anyways manga scans that you can't block Tostuka? It's a sword of sealing, not piercing. Orochimaru's sword is made for piercing. And you're only dead if you don't have haxx regeneration -Cough- OROCHIMARU, TSUANDE -cough-

If Orochimaru got hit with a real sword, it probably would have killed him.....he didn't even bother to dodge the hit because Itachi attacked as he was monologuing.

Swords still kill people in Naruto, Orochimaru is just efficient at substituting out of the attack; but he didn't substitute out of Itachi's attack because he wasn't paying attention....so if it was a real sword, he would have gotten killed.
