I already know this and even added it to the op. Im just sceptical about things that tobi says. Also alot of things has been said in the manga either about people or technique which later on has been proven false.

From what I understand you don't need the dna of a Senju to perform either of these doujutsu's, if I remember correctly the reason for using Senju dna is to increase the amount of time Izanagi lasts for. I think its something like a minute with the cells of a Senju(namely Hashirama) I'm not sure though if its the same for Izanami.

How hard is it to understand that Danzo actually using Izanagi makes what Tobi said not entirely true. Tobi basically says to use Izanagi you need both POWERS of the Senju(body) and Uchiha(eyes). Danzo had Hashirama's cells injected into his arm(Senju) and had Sharigans(Uchiha) attached to it. This is why he was able to use Izanagi. It has nothing to do with DNA entirely, at least on the Uchiha part.

If you notice what Itachi is saying he is basically saying he had to make preparations to use Izanami. Meaning he might have figured out a way to use them without having Senju powers. It also could mean that you really don't need to have Senju powers if you are a Uchiha to use these techniques. It's just that people outside the Uchiha bloodline that transplant sharigans would need Senju DNA to use this ability and not actually die from it because the chakara that is required to use Sharigan techs are heavily taxing on non Uchihas. Look how messed up Kakashi gets when he uses the MS. Now if he used an ability as strong as Izanagi would kill him without Hashirama's powers to keep him alive. Danzo's only problem is that he couldn't control Hashirama's powers because he used 10 Izanagi's back to back and on top of all that Sasuke damaged him badly on his final attack.

I think by "complete" he means actually manipulate the time of Izanagi. If you notice Danzo was only able to manipulate the time of Izanagi for about a minute(correct me if I'm wrong). Tobi was able to manipulate the time for 10 minutes to survive Konan's attack.

True both had hashirama dna and both had the sharigan, but what we also know is that danzo isnt an uchiha and tobi is still unknown. Both not being uchiha's might explain why in that case hashirama's dna is needed along with the sharigan

I've always thought that Hashirama's DNA was needed to prolong the effects of Izagani not that it was needed in order to do it.

Ulchihas are born with an extremely potent chakra and alot of Ulchihas are born with vast chakra reserves as well. Although the Ulchiha are NOT Senju, they both descend from the same lineage. Im sure the further down the line of descent the Ulchiha chakra/reserves get less and less potent as time passes, but some are born with the potential to still unlock all of the power of the eyes.

Sage of 6 Paths had the Life Force necessary to extend Izanagi infinately (without killing himself or going blind) through the "body" that he possessed. This is why someone like Danzo is able to not only use but increase the potentiality of Izanagi, the power of the Senju "body" extends the life of the eye. A "perfect body" senju can probably extend the light of the eyes using these kinjutsu's ... indefinitally.

EXCUSE ME! BUT ACCORDING TO THE MANGA U NEED TO BE A UCHIDA TO USE THE MANGEKYU TECHNIQUES AND NOT A UCHIHA! ok im just trolling i also have believed this for some time now. I have believed that the senju dna was only needed to PROLONG the effects of the izinagi and the izinami or the senju dna can be used to STRENGTHEN the effects of mangekyu techniques such as koto amatsukami. However, if you are a true uchiha you should be able to use the techniques. Its all speculation though..... hey Blaze Release i want to ask a favor. I have been thinking what will happen if itachi loses his light? will he regain his light and eye because he is an edo tensei or do u think he wont be able to regain his eyesight? Can you please make a thread about this subject stating your opinion on the matter because i am really curious as to what might happen. Thanks man!

I agree, its basically the same with Shisui's Kotoamatsukami and Hashirama's powers. Itachi noted that it would take 10 years before you could use that ability after using it unless you use Hashirama's powers.

Why would Tobi be lying when he said it requires Senju and Uchiha DNA to use Izanagi ? It was stated in the manga,don't try to contradict the creator of the series.
