I've also been thinking about that. We don't know anything about them. But a scenario is that Indra was at 3T sharingan prior to his father's death. After his father died and Ashura was named heir to ninshuu, he finally went MS. Indra is basically still an Uchiha, so the despair leading to unlocking new dojutsu should still apply. In which case I see no better time for him to have gained MS. That's maybe how he could match with his brother's powerup. And he also had Ninjutsu. Ashura didn't.

OMFG, Kishi need to drop a manga on this. Then Madhouse should do the anime version of it! That shit would be one of the hardest moment in NV!

Ashura had RSM with no ninjutsu. So even with all that power, he was probably just fighting like Kaguya.

Indra had MS with PS and ninjutsu. So he was probably packing some mean tech in his arsenal even with lower raw power.

So the tie kinda makes sense.

Because he gave him Senjutsu. That doesn't require training as Madara, Obito and Naruto all used the Sage of the Six Paths Mode seimply by acquiring his Senjutsu. That passed on.

Yeah I don't think he had just sharigan if he did have MS it must have been powerful as shi. Makes more sense if he had rinnegan because the sage said he inherited his powerful chakra.
