Fine. Human's evolve. Human's share a common ancestor with apes. Human Evolution is a fact. Happy?

Hmm...Do you have link to this "common ancestor" that bridges the gap in the ape to man theory?? Wait, let me answer my own question. No you don't because it hasn't been discovered so you still just have a theory.
I'm done, you can't refute anything ive said.

To be honest it's rather accepted answers than facts. Basically subjective due to scientific reasoning.

Evolution is real. It is biblical and described in Genesis 1. Pride and arrogance prevented people from seeing it before. Center of the universe types...

But science and evolution won't help you see the true nature of man and why we are different from the animals. Many animals are smart, care for their young, or communicate. Even the monkeys are making tools and painting with their poop.

Only we can enter into abstract agreements with one another. We can give our word to one another, and in turn, we can keep our word. This is different than merely communicating. We can make covenants. And that is as smart and evolved as God needs us to be.

God is Holy and just. God's justice requires one's life for sin. We sinned. Satan and his demons wanted us dead.

Instead of instantaneously doing away with us, God, in His forbearance, created a wedge between sin and death called time. We exist in this construct called time. And in the fullness of time God established His Covenant with us, which at this point, requires that we accept His Son's sacrifice for us. His own blood in place of ours. It is a real choice, and time to make it is the only reason we aren't dead yet.

Jesus is the Word of God. God gave His only Son to us. God gave His Word to us. We are created in the image of God. We too can give our word. That's it. That's all that's left of us after the fall. We don't resemble God much anymore but we can accept His word, make a covenant with God, and rebuild from there.

To expound on what others have said, I think people are too distracted by the belief in a higher entity to see religion for what it mostly is. I see it as being highly cultural, and because of this, presume culture would be the prime candidate to replace religions's ups and downs had the latter not existed.

As a kid/teen, if I had brought home some cooked cat or dog from the store, I would have at the very least gotten grounded all the way to heaven . As an adult, if I slept with a pillow that had a provocative anime girl on it, I'd be mocked to hell and back.

We humans don't have much aptitude for absolute indifference toward behaviors, and behavior is all we are. There's many behaviors that I'm sure everyone deems disgusting or weird. If you wouldn't want your kids to learn it, or your family's participation, then it's safe to say you most likely hold some kind of negative view toward it. There is little conflict because one culture isn't trying to force its behaviors on another. Another key detail keeping culture a step away from religion.

Marriage (this includes whether *** takes place before marriage, the justifications for divorce, how old you're allowed to be before you marry etc,), celebrations/holidays, funerals (how the dead is buried), appearance (clothing/grooming), sports, etc. can all be dictated by culture alone. Without any belief in a higher entity or afterlife. As in my own personal case, prohibition of certain food was GREATLY encouraged. As a child, you adopt these beliefs and peconceptions without ever feeling the need to challenge them. It's all just so normal to you. Religion governs a lot of the above mentioned, if not all. Yet an atheist or agnostic can be just as conditioned in all the same categories that religion moderates.

Look at all the attitudes toward "black culture". You hear the complaints all the time, "Just because I'm black doesn't mean I listen to rap, or play and watch basketball." This perception just goes to show how residing in the same country can still produce very large differences among communities. You have people arguing, using whatever statitics, that blacks are more likely to drop out of school because of their mindset or "culture". Certainly such views have nothing to do with religion, yet people are discerning behaviors between different groups of people and fighting over it.

Perhaps the most evident case, is the one where for many years, millions of whites, because of how they were raised, mistreated and even killed many blacks...

You have people who apparently ignorantly bash the entire Indian culture as a result of hearing about just a few events.

Look at how much support Donald Trump is getting after making drastic generalizations (especially about Mexians).

If you believe religion is man made, then it comes down to the following...

Society: Let's think of ways to keep the people and thus the community under control.

Religion: Let's think of ways to keep the people and thus the community under control.

One thing I was able to get a clearer picture of after reading through all those quaran quotes members be posting here on NB, is that both religion and society in general make their rules to either remedy a current problem (or foreseeable one) or gain more control. Granted, society can be more innocent in its influence, all it takes is one celebrity to start some kind of trend, after all.

Whichever it is, the decision always impact the way people behave and interact with one another in their day to day relations.

So yeah, I think we're actually looking at ourselves when we look at religion. The supernatural aspect is just dirt on the mirror.

PS. I'm agnostic

This was a fantastic post. I especially like the bold.

Someone once said that all the theories which can prove evolutionism can stand in a table, while all those which disprove it can fullfill 10 rooms :D
Anyway, it doesn't refute the existence of God, anything can do it. Yes, also nothing can prove it, so it's a free choice to everyone to believe or not to believe, but anyway most of the people feel the necessity to believe in somewhat "outside", and if the big religions nowadays are getting a bit superseded, stuff like Scientology, or New Age, or simply to go meeting fortune tellers or reading the horoscope is hugely rising

Of course, because "Evolutionism" is a ridiculous and self defeating argument used by theists that claims evolution as a religion. Ridiculous because it's not a religion, and self defeating because it implies that a religion is less trustworthy than a scientific theory, thus weakening the theists argument. That's got to be at least 7 rooms right there.

Actually, you win a point for realising that evolution makes no claims on the existence of a deity. That point, and a dollar, will get you a really bad cup of coffee.

Evolution is a scientific theory, not a belief system. And before you say "The Big Bang" no. That's not a belief system either.

And how do you work that out?

belief
noun be·lief \bə-ˈlēf\
Simple Definition of belief
Popularity: Top 20% of words
: a feeling of being sure that someone or something exists or that something is true
: a feeling that something is good, right, or valuable
: a feeling of trust in the worth or ability of someone

This is a terrible ideology. Committing crimes isn't bad when you ignore the negative aspects of them either.
A crime and religon are two seperate things a crime is negitive all round done religon isnt inherently evil

...Um...no...evolution isn't a belief...You can believe in evolution, but in itself isn't a belief. Notice that your definition says "Feeling." Evolution is not a feeling.

He means the ideology that I posted which is why he used crime as an example. But yes they are two things you can't compare since one is a belief and the other is an act that the person does.

Metaphors, simile, syllogism and analogy all disagree.
