its not something oda would say because he likes to leave things to thinking. so if he says ch doesnt work in a 1v1 fight then hed ruin it for pepole since they wont think of the theories. otherwise he wouldnt have kept sanjis left eye in the dark until the skip
I think I've experienced worse on this section with some girl who thought Luffy will solo. Doffy in Dressrosa. That was like in June/July though. This thread is funny to read though. XD
Edit: Nvm it was 6 pages but it was a heated debate though. She would pretty much call you an idiot/dumbass if you disagreed with her loool.

well this has been entertaining for sure, but i must say its been grt that u peeps kept the direct insults on the low and let the facts or non-facts do the outclassing.
OT: IMO the Shanks and Mihawk issue is one Oda deliberately made as by hype Yonko are supposed to be the pple at the top of this era, then Mihawk is WSS yet one of the yonko uses a sword for combat so by th@ logic Mihawk shld b > Shanks, but he then goes to make a trusted source WB say Mhwk and Shnks used to battle a lot before by so making them rivals and kinda imply they are or @ one tym were close or equal in power. End of the day i still wanna go with Shanks(slightly)>Mihawk coz of the Yonko status and the clash with WB, and i know Mihawk has some very epic feats i.e Slashing a massive iceberg(casual strike @ that), spliting the Dreadnaught Saber as if with scorching knife thru butter and i really think the difference btwb them is very very small. The question then is why isn't Shanks WSS if he's >Mihawk, to this it comes down to what does Oda mean by swordsman and to me i see the term swordsman(in one piece world) as more a title than a generic term for "sword user".
Mate, out of everyone one to visit this thread, you're defs the cockiest one out. I mean, whenever there's a theory regarding a power or a character, you always post your theory (a link) regarding the same topic and go on to state the OP is 100% wrong and yours is right.
Proven that Shanks is a swordsman. You are simply in a constant state of denial.
Prove Mihawk has Haki and then continue by saying it's fact Shanks is a fully-fledged swordsman - swordsman epitomized.
You can manipulate statements by ignoring key phrases. Like how you completely ignored me saying common practice and training. Which means you couldn't construct a counter argument to my statement , a clear sign that i've found a loophole in your argument.
Consistent training is different from picking up a sword twice in your life. I would've thought that someone with so many d*ck riders in this thread would know this. Sadly you clearly aren't as great as the shit debaters say you are if you're incapable of comprehending a differentiation between comedic repetition and consistent usage.
Now now mate, just 'cause no one has critically acclaimed you as being one of the best debaters and most knowledgeable regarding OP doesn't mean you need to go out of your own way to people to a weaker level. It's just appalling & pathetic after-all. And as someone who's debated with you many times, it's afir to say that words of yours are just undoubtedly beneath you my friend. So please man, stop being covered by this shroud of jealousy and/or hate 'cause it's truly clouding your judgement.
Plus, RW definition of a swordsman is someone who fights with sword (so granted, RW-wise, Shanks is a swordsman, period; but same goes for Luffy). However, MW definition of a swordsman is someone who possesses nothing in their arsenal except swordsmanship (so granted, MW-wise, Luffy ain't a swordsman, but neither is Shanks).
And if you say Shanks is a swordsman MW-wise since he hasn't shown any feats such as punchng or kicking, than you cannot say Mihawk has CoA since he's shown no feats of that. So, if you say it's theoretical to assume he has it, then it's theoretical to assume Shanks can fuse CotSK & CoA to execute mild Almighty Push's and of course, expert martial arts prowess. But if you don't accept he isn't a swordsman but a multi-versal combatant, than you can't say Mihawk has CoA. So as for his title: WSS/WGS is exactly what it says: in pure-swordsmanship (since Haki is an add-on just like V-tech is to a car), than he is the strongest swordsman in terms of sword-strength and greatest swordsman in terms skill. Furthermore, if you continue to say Shanks is classified as nothing but a swordsman, than the reason Mihawk is called the WSS/WGS is simply because he wields the WSS/WGS - nothing more, nothing less.
That made no sense. Please reword it.... By creature they are most likely referring to either a Zoan ability or someone whom is not human (e.g. Giant,Fishman or Minkman). Whitebeard is dead ; Kaidou may have attained the title during the time skip. We don't know enough for this fail argument to have any logical relevance to the thread.
The fact that you want me to reword it implies you fail to comprehend my post. And thus you post slander in hopes of me subtracting that argument. But no bro, that won't work on me
Last time I checked it was WSS vs WSSS (worlds second strongest swordsman)
OMG. You obviously don't even know what it means to "solo" a thread. So I guess I'll educate you: it means to reply to all posts which were aimed at you and those replies were never replied back to. And last time I checked, Mr. Bogard here bitched it hard to me since he still never replied to any posts of mine which were directed at him in their entirety. And to think, that someone such as yourself, a self-proclaimed genius, would know such a simple definition.
It has been stated that Roger and Whitebeard were rivals so we can get an idea of his strength from Whitebeard's and it's easily above Law. Same in the case of Shanks (can be measure by Mihawk or from that he equalled WB in a clash).
Nope, not acceptable. 'Cause the guy that post was aimed at suggested hype is not used in debate, and what you posted there exhibits hype at it's finest.
It's based around one sword and his body as a whole (a la Vergo - first shown to use a bamboo stick as club, later shown to be a multi-versal fighter).
When was the last time we saw Shanks fight without his swords?
Also it is stated that Mihawk can run fear in his enemies just by looking in their eyes, so he can do that too. Now I guess he isn't a swordsman too, right?
Unlike people on this thread, I don't use Haki as a different fighting-style (unless it's my theory of Almighty Push), I use it as a supplement/extra. So even if he uses CotSK, that doesn't mean he has a different fighting-style.
So please dude, read these words carefully - since they'll also work as future advice; next time you respond to me, bear in mind what I use in my debates, otherwise you'll look like a fool.
If by "shot down" you mean these preceding posts turned into a figurative bullet and was shot at my head though luckily I didn't die but was instead put in a coma, than yes, yes I was "shot down".
With this term, it's clear to anyone who's beaten you that you're just trying to end this debate, otherwise you'd welcome more & more arguments to illustrate exactly why MIhawk is > Shanks. But you don't, you just act as though this debate is finished - which is obvious not the case (not yet though).
exactly. this one guy on here explained how ch can be fused with ah to make physical force. he also said that shanks could be able to use shockwaves like fishman karate or something like shinra tensai
Anyways, albeit all this commotion on MIhawk being > Shanks because he is the WSS and Shanks is also a swordsman so thereby MIhawk>Shanks is indeed pretty funny; especially when those guys ask for proof of Shanks having any other fighting-skill, and until shown, he is what you call a swordsman in the manga world. But still, can I ask you all a question? Meh, I cbf caring if you would care for a question or not, so here it is: does Dracule Mihawk, the 'Worlds strongest & greatest swordsman' even have CoA? I mean, 'Power of Destruction' can only take you so far against someone who's Haki is strong enough to break a ship, hence until you all (or any of you for that matter) prove he does - like prove prove - than it's safe to assume the only reason he is knows as the WSS/WGS is 'cause he holds, swings, simply uses the worlds strongest & greatest sword to exist.
Now then, since that has been cleared, rinnemaki... let's get a little personal shall we. And as a disclaimer, let me warn you that it's advised not for you to read any further (even though it's for you and for you only) as it can possibly be classified as uber-rape.
So, let me start it off with "hypocrite/10?"
Good, that's got the ball rolling.
So you may (or even others may) ask: "What does that mean?" "Why would he say that?"
Well then, do you remember your debate with Love Cook? Hopefully you do. But if ya don't, you can always go back on it. Anyway, back on-topic... but before I get the main point out, for the record, I don't give a shit about insults or anything, since impo, insults are actually ways to get your point across even furthermore, so I accept and even welcome them since it demonstrated just how passionate one is to make their argument/s stand tall over all with an iron fist (so-to-speak ofc). So what i say now can't track back to me 'cause it really doesn't even apply to me.
So then: after LC called you "starfish brain" you responded with a meaningful
Insults is a sign of loss. Because you are expressing minor rage right now as to the fact you cannot move the rock which is in your way known as an argument.
Consistent training is different from picking up a sword twice in your life. I would've thought that someone with so many d*ck riders in this thread would know this. Sadly you clearly aren't as great as the shit debaters say you are if you're incapable of comprehending a differentiation between comedic repetition and consistent usage.
(insulting their opinions; their beliefs). And thus, you've contradicted yourself to a hypocritical level.
Awhy would this be personal? Because e one thing I hate most is a hypocrite - especially when it comes to debating with one. So with that being said, I'll bestow you with this ultimatum (you should be honored, since I don't reason with hypocrites but you're an exception because behind that shroud of anger lies a respectable intellect): stop replying to my posts on this thread - so obviously this post - and we can debate anywhere else on any other thread just not this one seeing as you've committed a severe crime (in my books) so therefore I don't have it in me to continue debating with you (in this state) on the very thread you committed the act; OR, you sincerely apologize for you actions and then we continue debating to our hearts content right here - but, this apology must be in the form of that which allows me to here your sincerity .
But until any of those two options are met, if you want to respond, get any of your peers to respond on your behalf (I doubt any of them have the capacity to do so on a solo-ops, so I'll let you guide them into saying what and when).
Now it's true I can't force you to do any of them, and I wouldn't say "for the love of God/Christ/goodness (etc)". But I will say this: If you respect me - may be not as a person, but as a fellow OP-fan and/or debater - or simply for the respect of Oda himself for being the reason behind this discussion - then out of said respect, at least show the courtesy to comply to such a generous wish. I mean, after-all, I'm more comfortable swearing whilst debating but as you are not since I'd appear weak & unstable, I don't. So please have the dignity to take advantage of such a humble proposal.
*Opens a deck of Winnie Reds, takes a dart out, lights that shit and smokes it all in one go* "Sign, sealed, delivered." *Throws the butt* "Laiterz."
How am I asserting superiority over others when I simply described? You thought you were too good for this forum so you went on Hiatus. Simple really...
I mean, whenever there's a theory regarding a power or a character, you always post your theory (a link) regarding the same topic and go on to state the OP is 100% wrong and yours is right.
No... I link to a thread (if I have one) which shows my views without me having to explain in long paragraphs etc. most often because I don't normally have the time... If I disagree with the OP I will explain why. You clearly have the wrong idea.
Prove Mihawk has Haki and then continue by saying it's fact Shanks is a fully-fledged swordsman - swordsman epitomized.
I don't need to prove it. Why? Because someone of Admiral tier is sure to have Haki. (Mihawk is above that tier ; which says something), "prove that Doflamingo can use Busoshoku Haki. If you can't you clearly lose all of the plausibility for your argument..." (Same concept as what you're trying to exert) Because he has never shown it doesn't mean he can't use it. Logically when you power scale it's certain someone who rivals Shanks has it. But I will give you this: Since Zoro was trained under Mihawk in order to grow stronger during the two year time skip... What is the likelihood Mihawk did not teach him how to use Haki?
Neither have I constructed a poor argument, neither have you found a "loophole".
just 'cause no one has critically acclaimed you as being one of the best debaters and most knowledgeable regarding OP doesn't mean you need to go out of your own way to people to a weaker level.
Thing is I have... similarly to you : the claims came from people incapable of thinking for themselves and simply agreeing with what you said. They made no contribution to the thread as not a single plausible argument was made by them. Besides the fact you boast about what others say about you shows how you enjoy asserting superiority if all else fails.
How can ones words be beneath themselves? You simply disagree with everything I say because you can't counter my arguments without resorting to a minor witty comment.
So please man, stop being covered by this shroud of jealousy and/or hate 'cause it's truly clouding your judgement.
Yep... totally jealous... of course...
Especially when there's nothing to be jealous of...
Plus, RW definition of a swordsman is someone who fights with sword (so granted, RW-wise, Shanks is a swordsman, period; but same goes for Luffy). Called using logic. Zoro has punched and kicked before...

Haki adds to a persons power. Therefore Mihawk is still superior as being the Strongest Swordsman (the title Mihawk holds) means he is stronger than anyone categorized as a swordsman. Being the Greatest means either the same (depending on how you look at it) or the most skilled. In which Mihawk holds both titles.
The fact that you want me to reword it implies you fail to comprehend my post.
It means that you dominate a debate to the point where the opposing side is in a constant state of denial with no new arguments being created or without any responses as they realize the lack of arguments mean you lost. The primary is the state you guys are in right now.
So I guess I'll educate you: it means to reply to all posts which were aimed at you and those replies were never replied back to. And last time I checked, Mr. Bogard here bitched it hard to me since he still never replied to any posts of mine which were directed at him in their entirety.
I defined it better than you with more specificity.
Nope, not acceptable. 'Cause the guy that post was aimed at suggested hype is not used in debate, and what you posted there exhibits hype at it's finest.
I CBA to look for the post but I am aware. Hype has often treated us badly. Look at Hiruzen the supposed God of Shinobi as an example.
It's based around one sword and his body as a whole (a la Vergo - first shown to use a bamboo stick as club, later shown to be a multi-versal fighter).
When was the last time Shanks didn't use a sword to fight a strong human opponent?

Because there's no point trying to debate with people in a constant state of denial ; because they're too dense to debate with as they're incapable of changing opinion ; not only this but what their opposition says goes in one ear and out of the other.
otherwise you'd welcome more & more arguments to illustrate exactly why MIhawk is > Shanks. But you don't, you just act as though this debate is finished - which is obvious not the case (not yet though).
That's be me mah niggah.
FYI I prefer Shanks to Mihawk so not really... for other maybe ; but Mihawk isn't even among my 10 favorites.
Anyways, albeit all this commotion on MIhawk being > Shanks because he is the WSS and Shanks is also a swordsman so thereby MIhawk>Shanks is indeed pretty funny;
But still, can I ask you all a question? Meh, I cbf caring if you would care for a question or not, so here it is: does Dracule Mihawk, the 'Worlds strongest & greatest swordsman' even have CoA?
Hence he most likely has atleast two prominent forms of Haki. Yes?
hence until you all (or any of you for that matter) prove he does - like prove prove - than it's safe to assume the only reason he is knows as the WSS/WGS is 'cause he holds, swings, simply uses the worlds strongest & greatest sword to exist.
I've never even considered or mentioned Mihawks Yoru have I? Find a statement where I do and then this statement has low level plausibility , until then it's worthless.
Now then, since that has been cleared, rinnemaki... let's get a little personal shall we. And as a disclaimer, let me warn you that it's advised not for you to read any further (even though it's for you and for you only) as it can possibly be classified as uber-rape.

I know that feel bro... debating with one right now...
So with that being said, I'll bestow you with this ultimatum (you should be honored, since I don't reason with hypocrites but you're an exception because behind that shroud of anger lies a respectable intellect):
just not this one seeing as you've committed a severe crime (in my books) so therefore I don't have it in me to continue debating with you (in this state) on the very thread you committed the act;
Sorry for being a hypocrite even though that's down to your opinion and if you consider someone a hypocrite you can't really blame anything other than your standards on how you judge hypocriticism
- but, this apology must be in the form of that which allows me to here your sincerity .

Oda was never involved in this debate. Until he posts in this debate ; trying to make me feel sorry for Oda whom doesn't even know that this is going on at this very second on a website he can't read , then attempting to make me feel guilty is useless.
for being the reason behind this discussion - then out of said respect,
How is it generous seeing as it has no gain than to anyone but yourself.
I mean, after-all, I'm more comfortable swearing whilst debating but as you are not since I'd appear weak & unstable, I don't. So please have the dignity to take advantage of such a humble proposal.
I rather have this thread closed... It started of in good fun, but it has turned into a pissing contest between people that think a little to highly of themselves. Come one guys, it is just a manga/anime forum, lets keep it fun. Dont take it too serious.

Starting to turn into a flame war. This is supposed to be an opinion, and everyone is entitled to one. I hate it when people start imposing their opinion on to others.
Everything you mentioned are part of any fighting style. To find out who is the greater swordsman won't be doing circus acts. They will need to fight which is what will determine who is the strongest one.
Nothing in the manga implies Shanks to be anything but a swordsman and the author himself has Mihawk as the strongest swordman and Zoro's ultimate benchmark.
