Landmarks | Updating & Maintenance
► Description:
Every landmark in the Ninja World consists of a general description and any notes relevant to the landmark. There are many different kinds of landmarks and they each have their own unique features, but common for them all is that they are subject to change. Warring States Era (WSE) empathizes that the world should react to the players’ actions and choices, but it is not possible for the Staff to manually track any and all changes the players make to the world, thus this thread.
Submissions made to this thread can range from anything like building a fortress, raiding a village and pillaging it, or altering the geography and terrain. These changes can be good or bad; whatever the player(s) wishes, though they must be able to realize the change for it to be valid, meaning that the player must possess the required abilities or artifacts, and it must be approved by the staff. The checkers of this thread will differentiate between changes that can be realized through the players’ actions alone, and changes that require NPCs to act or react in a certain way. Changes that the players can realize themselves through the use of techniques, artifacts or similar do not need to be checked as such, the checker will simply validate that the players acted within the rules when they made the change, edit any grammatical errors in the submission, and then implement it. These are called simple changes. Changes that, on the other hand, are dependent on the actions of NPCs, must be approved at the discretion of the checker before being put through the same process as their counterparts. These are called world changes. Note that major topographical changes, like creating rivers, destroying mountains, or tearing open ravines, require the necessary artifacts in order to implement the changes.

► Sample Submission:
A simple change would involve a player building a small village using wood release. This only requires the player to know the technique in question and perform it. If, however, they want NPCs to populate the village the change becomes a world change, because now their change is dependent on whether NPCs move into the village or not.
Every change, whether a simple or a world change, must of course be described and implemented thoroughly in an RP fashion in the landmark(s) in question. To continue the above mentioned example; to realize their change the player might describe how they interact with some NPCs in the landmark and persuade them to move in, or maybe they force them to do so. The most important thing is that all changes are accompanied by RP that leads to these changes.
