Landmarks | Updating & Maintenance

Description:

Every landmark in the Ninja World consists of a general description and any notes relevant to the landmark. There are many different kinds of landmarks and they each have their own unique features, but common for them all is that they are subject to change. Warring States Era (WSE) empathizes that the world should react to the players’ actions and choices, but it is not possible for the Staff to manually track any and all changes the players make to the world, thus this thread.

Submissions made to this thread can range from anything like building a fortress, raiding a village and pillaging it, or altering the geography and terrain. These changes can be good or bad; whatever the player(s) wishes, though they must be able to realize the change for it to be valid, meaning that the player must possess the required abilities or artifacts, and it must be approved by the staff. The checkers of this thread will differentiate between changes that can be realized through the players’ actions alone, and changes that require NPCs to act or react in a certain way. Changes that the players can realize themselves through the use of techniques, artifacts or similar do not need to be checked as such, the checker will simply validate that the players acted within the rules when they made the change, edit any grammatical errors in the submission, and then implement it. These are called simple changes. Changes that, on the other hand, are dependent on the actions of NPCs, must be approved at the discretion of the checker before being put through the same process as their counterparts. These are called world changes. Note that major topographical changes, like creating rivers, destroying mountains, or tearing open ravines, require the necessary artifacts in order to implement the changes.

The template:

PHP:
Relevant Links:
Type: (Simple Change/World Change)
The original paragraph: (the original text of the paragraph in question. If the submission is a new paragraph or note this should be left empty)
The new paragraph: (the new text of the paragraph, with all changes bolded if relevant)

Sample Submission:

A simple change would involve a player building a small village using wood release. This only requires the player to know the technique in question and perform it. If, however, they want NPCs to populate the village the change becomes a world change, because now their change is dependent on whether NPCs move into the village or not.

Every change, whether a simple or a world change, must of course be described and implemented thoroughly in an RP fashion in the landmark(s) in question. To continue the above mentioned example; to realize their change the player might describe how they interact with some NPCs in the landmark and persuade them to move in, or maybe they force them to do so. The most important thing is that all changes are accompanied by RP that leads to these changes.

The original paragraph: Takinomori is characterized by a curious combination of the terrain of the Badlands of Earth and the Land of Fire in a harmonious union. The area is dominated by hills and mountains, but the further East one travels here the more plentiful the trees and flora. The area is fairly populous, with many communities along the lone river running through most of the area. In particular, a huge tree surrounded by a lake, situated near the edge of a ridge where the river runs into a waterfall, has seen a sizable town built around the water’s edges.

Behind the waterfall is a tunnel that leads into a giant land area behind the cliff. The area contains land, a river and a giant tree in the middle. Houses created by Korra's wood snake are spreaded throughout the land that are occpuied by the White Lotus and NPCs. The entire landmark is also layered in Korra's paper sheets that are blend into the area giving her a paper source throughout the entire landmark.

The original paragraph: The Haunted Forest, as the name implies, mostly consists of expansive woodland covered in snow. Despite the cold most of the trees still retain their crowns, and they are packed so tightly together that the snow often blocks out the sun entirely in some locations and makes it hard to navigate everywhere else. Some logging villages are located near the forest’s edges, but few hunters venture in there, despite its relatively rich fauna, because of its bad reputation.

The Haunted Forest, as the name implies, mostly consists of expansive woodland covered in snow. Despite the cold, most of the trees still retain their crowns, and they are packed so tightly together that the snow often blocks out the sun entirely in some locations and makes it impossible to navigate the forest beyond the villages without sensory or a guide. Surrounding the forest is a large body of water and a massive wall(guards always on patrol) containing four gates one in each cardinal direction, four bridges connect the gates to the forest. Within the forest are four villages one for each gate to the North is port city Culufan where most of the lands trade is done, to the West is Cactus known mostly for its secrecy, South is Chebika known mostly for the lake south of its border and East is Crescentia known mostly for its large female population. The land is governed by a council consisting of 5 people Byoto from Culufan, Kira from Cactus, Alistair from Chebika, Chi from Crescentia each a former leader of a village, and the last member is unknown to the general public but is said to be a spirit. Beyond these villages lies a vast array of forest wildlife which very rarely tend to travel into the villages though if you walked the edges of a border you could see the eyes of several blood thirsty predators prowling as if held back by a supernatural barrier. Natives of the land often tell stories of paranormal activities, disappearances, etc. within the forest and tend to not stray past the village boundaries, however, the shinobi of the land are often sent there to train.

The original paragraph: Theodoro constitutes the eastern half of Nagi Island. It is green and lush along the coastline, but the further inland one travels the more savannah-like the landscape becomes, with trees becoming successively more widely spaced and the grass being replaced by dirt. Races of all kinds are often held here, using the terrain as natural obstacles. A lush island lies off the coast of the area, considered an integral part of it, characterized by dense forest and diverse wildlife.

The new paragraph:

Theodoro constitutes the eastern half of Nagi Island. It is green and lush along the coastline, but the further inland one travels the more they can see the change of the terrain. What used to consist of savannah-like areas and dense woodlands, now was replaced by unique wetlands. Stygian water flowed through most of the terrain in the form of rivers that scarred the earth itself. Most of the forest areas were no longer beautiful and green. Though still housing many large trees, the Stygian water scattered across the terrain had knocked most of the trees down by burning through the bases. This leaves large chunks of wood mixed with the burning waters flowing around the forests. Other than that, both wildlife and humans that tour the area are hunted by unique creatures that seemed to have caused the terrain change. They are all massive beings in the shape of deformed rabbits and such that walked purely on their hind legs. These beasts were made of Stygian water, all being different sizes (Ranging up to the size of a great stone golem) and being very aggressive to all things with life. In all there are 32 of the Stygian Beasts within Theodoro.

Link to changes via rp:

Pending. This isn't a way to get a free-for-all CE source for your battles. I liked your RP, but these changes aren't indicative of a post-apocalyptic marshland so much as it's your personal Stygian waterpark. I'll contact you.

EDIT: Approved. I made some edits, as we discussed.

Note : Just helping update Shinramoto more specifically as it'll help me as it's become my Bio's Home and a centerpoint to my story

The original paragraph:
Situated due south-west of Chungsu, Shinramoto consists of a long stretch of coastland littered with fishing villages and a number of larger seaport towns, though the latter have been hit particularly hard economically by the razing of the former capital. Most of the terrain is relatively flat grassland, though the southern tip of Shinramoto include the foot of the mountain range that runs along a part of the Tea Peninsula.

The new paragraph:

Most of the terrain is relatively flat grassland, though the southern tip of Shinramoto include the foot of the mountain range that runs along a part of the Tea Peninsula.

The Seaport Towns are named Shinra Port and Masu no Machi. Shinra Port is located closest to Chungsu and is the most Northern of the other villages/towns and is more militarily established due to it's closeness to the capital, Masu no Machi is in the centre of Shinramoto's coastland and usually takes in the most income economically as it deals with both fishing trade and farming.

The Fishing Villages are named Senshitsu Village, Mori and Oka-Wan Village. Senshitsu Village is located between the two seaport towns and is the smallest, they're humble and solitary, the quietest of them all. Mori is a well established village as it has their most fearsome and courageous fisherman, experts at the sea even with the lack of resources they're given - it's said that the village is protected by a powerful monster. Oka-Wan Village is located on the coast within the tip of the mountains, they're very reserved and not welcoming - being isolated and secretive no one really goes there and it's usually forgotten about.

The original paragraph:

The new paragraph:

Considered a prime retreat for the elite of the Hanguri Freehold, Qindong contains many country manors, that used to be overrun by refugees from the Razing of Chungsu, all of whom have since disappeared. Over the years a large slum had emerged, connecting many of the now crumbling manors. Qindong’s forests were once considered prime hunting ground, but the refugees had long since killed all game there. They did this in desperation for food as they were merely left behind to fend for themselves. Mysteriously and abruptly one day every single refugee just vanished. A once perceived nuisance left to it's own devices now shows what a once prosperous and populated land looks like without people. The once overcrowded and populated slum is now empty. Like the forest nothing but eerie silence falls over the land, no fauna, no life at all just a dense rolling fog. This fog is heavy, smokey and smog-like it is smog pollution left over from the numerous refugees that had burned everything that could be burnt for warmth. It seems these refugees weren't killed. There are no bodies, and most of all no signs of a struggle. It's as if one day they all just left but none remain to tell the tale or story about how they did this, where they went or what they're doing now. This causes a very creepy and rather eerie atmosphere completely devoid of the noises of life.

Link to RP that facilitates this change. [ ]

~Approved with minor edits. Knocked off a few sentences that went a little too deeply into the refugees leaving. Message me if you feel like something should be changed.

The original paragraph:

The new paragraph:

Once an inhospitable land of sand and sediment which caused destabilization and constant rock-slides from the precarious cliff-faces almost overnight the entire land has shifted from a desert to a fertile landscape. Trade routes seem to have popped up nearly overnight with a massive, singular road connecting Kushasogen, the Graveyard of Sin and Takinomori increasing the speed at which people can move through the Graveyard of Sin. The sand and sediment have quickly been replaced by fertile, soft, and loamy soil. This new ground seems nutrient-rich temporarily infused with earthen chakra to change its consistency granting it a moist and luscious texture with the potential to support numerous crops and foodstuffs. From the pristine, central road that traverses the land north to south numerous smaller roads spiral out from this one road connecting four adjacent areas that now resemble farmland each with acres upon acres of freshly built fields of crops. These roads connect all of the outlying lands to the Graveyard of Sin and create a sort of roundabout where it seems like a massive city, or village could be built. The confusing and maze-like caverns have all but been collapsed leaving only three tunnels that connect one another connecting Kushasogen, the Graveyard of Sin and Takinomori in an almost secret way that would take actual inspection to find. It seems much more structurally sound than before with no inherent weak points as if collapsed purposefully and carefully. Along with the small amount of natural underground water irrigation tunnels have been crafted with fresh water in them enough to support crops and growing foodstuffs for months.

The original paragraph: Although geographically located extremely close to the two clusters of the Ancrath Archipelago the island of Tenkaichi has historically been considered separate from it. Tenkaichi is pleasant, green and in total anarchy. Ninja clans feud with other ninja clans, or with the countless small fiefdoms who, in turn, feud with one another. War is a constant here.

The new paragraph: Although geographically located extremely close to the two clusters of the Ancrath Archipelago the island of Tenkaichi has historically been considered separate from it. Tenkaichi is pleasant, green and was once in total anarchy before the arrival of The Prophecy who disrupted and put a stop to constant ninja feuds, uniting the several small clans under their umbrella.

A large wall surrounds the island, 30m away from the shoreline with two entrances at the east and west side of the island.

Approved, with edits. I've added a sentence at the end that you should take a look at.

The original paragraph:
The Devil’s Ravine is a sizeable, frigid canyon surrounded on all sides by rocky crater ridges and accessible only by narrow mountain paths. The canyon itself is filled with a mysterious, poisonous gas that never seems to dissipate. The Devil’s Ravine is a sizeable, frigid canyon surrounded on all sides by rocky crater ridges and accessible only by narrow mountain paths. Upon every high ground of the canyon, a watch-guard with a white gas mask and a spear stands tall watching. Whomever enters on land isn't intercepted, but rather watched and reported to the center the inselberg surrounded by the forest via smoke signals or body signs. If anything out of the normal from the sky approaches towards the land. The landmark is alarmed through a release of red smoke which is rarely ever used, even if attacked from the ground. Each guard watches another in a connected sight-web, in range to each other on pillars, cliff, etc. They allow each other's guard to be seen and as well see the other guard.

The canyon itself is filled with a mysterious, poisonous gas that never seems to dissipate. The stronger it becomes if one heads towards the forest. Without immunity to the gas, victims die before even reaching the forest. Holding no effect on the victim as it takes their life suddenly and quietly, it kills silently (B-rank damage, every 2 turns; upon reaching the forest). Gusty winds flow through the ravine but never enough to rid of it (can be nullified by using D-rank or higher winds to spread it apart for 3 turns before it returns). The terrain is lifeless and barren, but in the center of the canyon a thick, fertile forest grows, untouched by the poisonous cloud due to its unchanging, circular rotational path around the canyon. It is said that the source of the poisonous cloud is located deep within the forest.

Declined. No, this doesn't go. First of all I don't see the RP that leads to this taking place, and, quite frankly, this is just wayyyyy too focused on giving you some advantages when being attacked. That's not what this is for.

The original paragraph: A remote area located near the borders of the Badlands, this valley of canyons has been described as a place where people come and never return. The steep canyon walls are lined with many unexplored caverns, but the sediment of the area is loose; near constant rockslides are a fact of life here. Local legends claim that many Freehold soldiers lost their lives here trying to navigate and map the maze-like terrain. It is home to many curious, native species of fauna, including snakes, the apex predator of the area. Many cacti also grow here, surviving off what little water that can be found in the underground.

Almost overnight the entire area has changed from a desert to a fertile landscape. Trade routes seem to have popped up nearly overnight because of the sudden appearance of a massive, singular road connecting Kushasogen, the Graveyard of Sin and Takinomori, increasing the speed at which people can move through the Graveyard of Sin. The sand and loose sediment has quickly been replaced by fertile, soft and loamy soil. This new ground seems nutrient-rich, temporarily infused with earth chakra to change its consistency and granting it a moist and luscious texture with the potential to support numerous crops and foodstuffs. The new paragraph: In the middle of the land is a giant settlement that is controlled by both The Golden Sabbath and The White Lotus. The settlement had wooden houses, structures and bridges that extend in all directions. The settlement has been established as a trading post for both clans with villagers from both clans being able to move here or visit here to trade amongst themselves.

Three factions carry out duty sections in the Devil's Ravine. One faction operates the watch over of whomever enters and leaves. This is done by: Upon every high ground of the canyon, a watch-guard with a white gas mask and a spear stands tall watching.

Second faction, they travel via tunnels and made walls to limit areas where the mist used to pass to allow them to have enough time to farm and as well reach their homes quickly. Third faction, are the ears and eyes on the ground, to keep sight of anything out of the norm. Have them report to clan leader, if such situation comes about.

The mist is deadly as ever been, it's noted it takes 12 hours to kill anyone, once inflicted by it (RP Wise: 2 turns before victim dies, if not treated). However, very easily treat able by Medical Shinobi.

~Declined. Slightly altering the effects are not going to change the core issue here. This thread is not designed to be used for optimizing the defenses of your clan in actual battle situations. Take out this 'reporting back' stuff.

The original paragraph:

San'indō is a very simple island on the surface, quite literally. There it is simply a grassy island, with some small trees in the center and miscellaneous light vegetation. However, under the surface lies a complex and expansive maze of tunnels, clearly man-made and with tunnels that can be both very narrow and really spacious. Down here a very diverse community of miners, scavengers and explorers has taken root. Very nutritious, if ill-tasting, mushrooms grow in abundance throughout the tunnels, making it a haven for the poor and starving. The surface of the island is, like most of the archipelago, almost perpetually covered by mist.

Reason for the change:

Through this arc, the theme has been that the people on this island were suppressed in this mining facility, the mist above being something to fear while a group of bandits above ground kept them in the dark. Throughout this arc of ours, King and Kaizen took the fight to these Bandits, destroyed their regime but things weren't finished yet. King wanted to change things for the people, without asking them, he took it upon himself. Using a combination of complex jutsu, he caused the mining facility to be brought above the ground and broke down into several buildings through advanced earth manipulation. He built a steel wall all around the village with A rank strength to protect them from future threats. Finally he has tried using the basic sealing technique, using it on water, to seal the mist within this new area he's created, leaving them with a village free of mist, while the mist lingers around the rest of the island, giving them a fresh start, and maybe, in hopes of their new formed clan to make this their base of operations.

The new paragraph:

San'indō is a very simple island on the surface, quite literally. There it is simply a grassy island, with some small trees in the center and miscellaneous light vegetation. With several changes brought to the island though, the once underground mining facility was brought to the surface being surrounded with a 10m high wall of A rank steel to protect it. A think mist lingers around this newly formed village, making it near on impossible to locate it on the island, while the people within can live in daylight after years of darkness. It now serves as an above ground diverse community, scavengers, traders and many other trades once came here, now maybe they will once more. The surface of the island around the village is, like most of the archipelago, almost perpetually covered by mist.

The original paragraph:
Darkcloud Peak sees a lot of cold, rainy days, from which it gets its name. The area is characterized by large, circular mesas; rocky and barren, separated by deep, barren and even colder valleys. A few villages lie atop the mesas, mining the landforms for valuable ore and tending small, lowered fields with collected rainwater and little soil; a commodity here. A series of rope bridges connect the inhabited mesas, and a few pulley systems draw water from the rivers running through the valleys below.

The new paragraph: [New City Creation]
Stormwind:
Stormwind the Capitol of the Alliance, the pinnacle of power and the seat of the King. It lies between the hills and the rice fields, the small villages surrounding it, the stone laid roads leading off into the different regions of the Kingdom. Stormwind, has a single gate, a gate made of steel, wood and chains, built by the dwarves. To enter the gate, one must cross the bridge with the statues of glorified knights and heroes. Inside Stormwind, you may find the safety of the walls, the many different districts; trade district, cathedral square, dwarven district, the harbor, old town, the canals and lion’s rest. Now, the harbor itself is a busy port, with many traders and ships coming and going, but it is also where the galleons of the alliance rest when they are not at sea. The harbor is surrounded by walls both at sea and separating it from the rest of the city. The walls at sea, have metal gates that go into the water, and must be risen by chains. The rest of the city is protected by the walls and gates, as well as the knights wearing the golden lion crest. People from all around the world have been welcomed to the city, and it is a peaceful and prosperous place. Lion’s Rest is where all fallen knights, as well as kings and heroes are laid to rest. At the top of the hill lies Stormwind Keep. It is rising high above the rest of the city and is protected by a deep moat, with a statue of the hero and king of the city. Within the keep lies the libraries, as well as the place for nobles, as well as the meeting place of the representatives from the human people as well as the battlemasters. The throne room is like a glittering cave, the light coming through the windows above, the floor decorated with the crest of the king as well as banners hanging from the walls, the knights standing guard across the halls and the throne room. In more recent times, the gate of Stormwind is being guarded by knights as well as archers on the walls, due to pillaging and unfriendly people roaming the lands, thus everyone entering Stormwind is due a search and thoroughly checked up on before allowing them entrance into the city.

The original paragraph:
The Thousand Needles is an odd area, containing dozens of spires of stone and earth. These form a jagged, confusing maze, but also provide shelter from the elements. As such, a small village exists here with rope bridges connecting the spires in a crisscrossing pattern, suspended dozens of meters above the earth. The villagers here are mostly safe from harm thanks to their high perches, but there are dangerous birds in the area, notably the giant vultures that prey on the weary and wounded.

As such, a small village existed here with rope bridges connecting the spires in a crisscrossing pattern, suspended dozens of meters above the earth. Though this was all changed when a man came along and formed it anew, now, these spires formed giant solid pillars of earth, each connected with stone bridges along with large temples made of earth that stood at the top of each rock pillar forming a new village, The Air Nation.

The original paragraph:
The Haunted Forest, as the name implies, mostly consists of expansive taiga woodland covered in snow. Despite the cold, most of the trees still retain their crowns, and they are packed so tightly together that the snow often blocks out the sun entirely in some locations and makes it hard to navigate everywhere else. Some logging villages are located near the forest’s edges, but few hunters venture in there, despite its relatively rich fauna, because of its bad reputation.

A deep, moat-like river that surrounds the now clearly demarcated Haunted Forest has been constructed here recently. Along the outer banks of this river a massive wall has been raised, broken only by four gates; one in each cardinal direction. Four bridges connect these gates to the forest proper across the river, each connected to a village on the other side that guards their respective bridge and gate. In the North lies the port of Culufan, whose docks are separated from the village by the great walls, through which most of the landmark's trade passes. To the West is Cactus, known for its secretive people. In the South is Chebika, associated mostly with a nearby lake, and in the East is Crescentia, in which the majority of the residents are female. Beyond these villages a vast array of forest wildlife, which very rarely tends to travel into the villages, rules. However, if one walks the edges of the borders the eyes of several bloodthirsty predators can be seen, prowling as if held back by a supernatural barrier. Natives of the land often tell stories of paranormal activities, disappearances and the like within the forest and tend to not stray past the village boundaries, though the shinobi of the land are often sent there to train.

The land is governed by a council consisting of five people: Byoto from Culufan, Kira from Cactus, Alistair from Chebika and Chi from Crescentia, each a former leader of the then independent villages. The last member is unknown to the general public but is said to be a spirit.

The new paragraph:
The last member unknown to the general public is Grenth of Tsumigakure. Since the council's establishment, another set of gates have been erected in front of the previous ones forming a barrier around the land to prevent outsiders from destroying the community that was forged through hardship. These gates remain closed to the general public but are accessible through 4 gate guards: To the north, a man named Denmo guards the Culufan gate, to the south man named Senyruu guards the Chebika gate, to the east a woman named Sando guards the Crescentia gate, and to the west a man named Q guards the Cactus gate. These four guards are the sole holders of special blank tags with the kanji for ignite(発火する) on the back. These tags allow access through the gate, once received the tag must be returned upon exit or else they will be ignited. Those who call the Haunted Forest home and certain members of Tsumigakure seem to have permanent access to the forest, however.

~Pending, per my VM.

The original paragraph:

Takinomori is characterized by a curious combination of the terrain of the Badlands of Earth and the Land of Fire in a harmonious union.

Behind the waterfall a tunnel has been constructed that leads into a sizeable open land area behind the cliff. The area contains a river and is dominated by a very large tree in its center. Dwellings have been constructed here in which a number of natives have taken up residence. Although the flora in this enclosed area looks normal at first glance, most of the trees and flowers are in fact composed entirely of fine paper sheets, to the detriment of the fauna here.

Takinomori is also the location of the Sin Village hospital which was created by Korra and villagers. This hospital; is used for Sin Ninja to heal up and get any medicine. The hospital also happens to be located near the giant tree near the lake and is 5 stories tall. Below the hospital is a secret lab created Korra and now disappeared workers.

The original paragraph:
The Lost Shores are a major estuary for the complex Tobusekai river system. The shores are largely unpopulated, and largely devoid of animal life. It is said that giants once roamed the shores, as there are numerous craters that litter the shores alongside with many irregularities in the rivers’ flow. Off the shores of the coast are numerous warships bearing the standard of Shogun Takauji Ashikaga; yet all of the ships are strangely devoid of any life with no signs of the Shogun.

After the Sin Village claimed the land, a small port sits on the shoreline with the ships brought in. The port is a trading port for the Sin Village and the rest of their landmarks.

The original paragraph(s):

Fuging: Known for its resort towns and lavish onsens the area was hit hard by the Razing of Chungsu, but has recovered in recent years. Fuging is split into the commercial coastland, where the tourism-dependent towns and onsens are situated, and the rural inland area, which is more heavily forested and sparsely populated by subsistence agriculture communities.

Jamihiro: Home to the easternmost of the Five Forts, Jamihoro is known for its expansive fields of mainly potatoes, but also staples likes rice and wheat. An intricate system of canals, drawing water from the river running through the area, connects the majority of the fields in a huge network. The fort itself, though abandoned, is situated near Jamihoro’s northern edge; a huge fortification of metal walls and towers that also includes a port on the nearby river for dispatching smaller ships into the Haran Bay. Tunnels run beneath the fort, connecting it to its brother in the West.

Hayakami: Home to one of the Five Fort; the one East of center, Hayakami is characterized by its open expanses of fertile fields that grow all manners of grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts and berries. Many of the Akimichi Clan once made their home here in small hill compounds, most of which were destroyed or repurposed by the Freehold. Recently, however, some Akimichi have returned to the area. The fort itself, though abandoned, is situated near Hayakami’s northern edge; a huge fortification of metal walls and towers. Tunnels run beneath the fort, connecting it to its brothers in the East and West.

Jarteeg: Home to one of the Five Fort; the central hub and largest fortification of them all, Jarteeg is characterized by its deep forests, unremarkable in the Land of Fire, and relatively untouched surface. Beneath the ground, however, the network of tunnels that connect the Five Forts meet in a complex and expansive maze beneath Jarteeg. A small number of local ninja clans compete for control over the fort above while many vagrants from far and wide seek shelter in the deep, unexplored tunnels. The fort itself, though otherwise abandoned, is situated near Jarteeg’s northern edge; a huge fortification of metal walls and towers.

The new paragraph(s):

Fuging: After having recovered from the Razing's of Chungsu Fuging was split into a commercial coastland, where the tourism-dependent towns and onsens are situated, and a rural inland area, which was more heavily forested and sparsely populated by subsistence agriculture communities. This however all changed when Genji Hayabusa arrived, Fuging was the first victim in his Reign of Terror. He ramapaged throughout Tanigakure erasing every living being and sign of life from exsistence. All physical matter above the surface was erased. No trees, buildings, people.. it was a barren wasteland for miles.

Jamihiro: Originally home to the easternmost of the Five Forts, Jamihoro was known for its expansive fields of mainly potatoes, but also staples likes rice and wheat. An intricate system of canals, had drawn water from the river running through the area, connects the majority of the fields in a huge network. This fort however, and the surrounding lands would meet their doom upon the arrival of Genji Hayabusa. In his rampage, Jamihiro was the next land to be erased. All physical matter within it's boundaries above surface level would cease to exist after his black waves of nothingness. Every living being, every living organism, every physical structure was gone. Another barren wasteland, the only areas left untouched would be the underground caves and canals, anything below the surface.

Hayakami: Another one of Five Forts; the one East of center, Hayakami was characterized by its open expanses of fertile fields that grow all manners of grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts and berries. This however was brought to an end upon Genji's arrival, the criminal in his pursuit of destroying the Hidden Valley would erase all physical matter within this land including the fort. Turning what was once a stronghold of power within Tanigakure into a ghost land. The only places left untouched would be the tunnels running beneath the fort, connecting it to its brothers in the East and West.

Jarteeg: Another one of the Five Forts; the central hub and largest fortification of them all, Jarteeg was characterized by its deep forests, unremarkable in the Land of Fire, and relatively untouched surface. Beneath the ground, however, the network of tunnels that connect the Five Forts meet in a complex and expansive maze beneath Jarteeg. This tunnels after the arrival of Genji Hayabusa would be the omly places left untouched upon his arrival as he would erase the towering fortress and any living organism and physical structure within the area, much like the lands of Fuging, Jamihiro, and Hayakami: Jarteeg had become a barren wasteland a ghost land.

Note: As a result of Genji Hayabusa's ability to erase things on certain planes of existence it is believed that the spirits of the land, people and animals still roam about. Leading nomads and nearby inhabitants to dub these collective landmarks: Rengoku, a purgatory for the dead.
