Kakashi with mid to high diff. sharingan tech aside dude has not shown us all of his justus but we know he has plenty. I think he just the smarts and skill set to attack her in many ways she won't see coming.

I think you forgot that Mei has 5 releases not 4. She has Earth, Fire, Water, Boil, and Lava.
And raiton has no advantage of suiton

Mei takes this with mid to high difficulty. We have seen that kakashi doesnt fair well against the hidden mist technique, but also due to way it works, it blocks the sharigan view point, meaning mei can use this to her advantage throughout the fight, but also its a great counter to kumai.

Secondly mu has more advanced techniques that kakashi doesnt have, which will cause him great trouble because he doesnt have any defence against them. Lava release, boil release are too much, let alone her acid.

I'll actually go with Kakashi on this one. If he can close the gap he wins. She's a more mid-long range fighter rather than short range.

KAKASHI will win it with high difficulty at current information level.

The only problem for Kakashi is acid mist.
Lava can be avoided.
Mei's Taijutsu is not that much strong as we have seen by so far.
She doesn't seem to possess huge chakra level also.
Plus we have little informatrion on Mei's abilities. More info and more accurate outcome.

Could not have said it better. It would be kakashi along side of mei fighting madara if the plot had not made the twist it did with danzo. kakashi is well above kage level. honestly i can see him defeating gaara as well. and if the lightning shroud is able to be copied possibly the raikage. Kakashi is not only fast but amazingly smart. He is said to be as smart, if not, smarter than shikamaru. mei hasnt shown me any kage level abilities compared to the past kage of the leaf. her bloodline limit is impressive but not enough to defeat Kakashi.

Right? because no one can defeat the guy who lost to Zabuza in just a few seconds and had to be saved by two of his inexperiienced genin students, the guy who needed help to stand a chance against an exhausted (from fighting danzo) and blind Sasuke? Or the guy who hasnt won a battle since his fight with Zabuza (after being saved from death by genins) Yeah sure, this guy is definitely above Kage level (sarcasm).

other way around bud . mei hasnt showed any taijutsu, speed, or smarts that could compete with kakashi . Even with her KGs kakashi still beats her in the ninjutsu department as well

the way sasuke dodged lava release tells us that it can be easily avoided, and if anybodies good at playing defense and offense at the same time its kakashi .

Are you joking? Kakashi isn't anywhere near Mei in Ninjutsu.The scale of Mei ninjutsu is on a totally different level than kakashi's.You might want to reread the manga and pay close attention to Mei using her jutsus in the Madara versus Five Kage fight.

We have seen a total of six jutsu from Mei compare to Kakashi 20 something jutsus, so I think it will be save to assume Mei has more up her sleaves than Kakakashi.

As for smarts, Zabuza intelligence was the same as Naruto yet he would have killed Kakashi if it was for genin level shinobis in Naruto and Sasuke.And I would bet Mei is far smarter than Zabuza, so what makes you think anything Kakashi could plan Mei wouldn't have a counter for.
