Itachi vs Jiraiya?? Jiraiya fans plz answer

YOU DONT SEEM TO GET THE FACT THAT ITACHI SCARED HIM FOR A REASON.........namely, jiraiya would have wiped the floor with them in reality as well. Now stop wasting everyone's time by saying the same thing over and over again.

While I absolutely believe Jiraiya-sama was amazing as a shinobi, I don't see how he would be a healthy Itachi. Once Susanno'o went up and he used Tsuykuomi and Amaterasu together, Jiraiya couldn't withstand that onslaught. A healthy is likely the strongest member of Akatsuki other than Madara probably.

Now the concern I believe Itachi had was always that he needed to reserve his eyesight for when he faced Sasuke. He decided long before he'd died to Sasuke and he couldn't very well bluff fighting Sasuke if he was blind. It's hard to say how much Itachi used the Mangekyou Sharingan in order to get to his state, but we saw we Sasuke he was nearly blind after using it in three large battles...against Killer Bee, the 5 Kage Summit, and fighting Danzo.

If Itachi would've tried to fight all out with Jiraiya he would've went blind and likely would've died by Jiraiya's hands. Even if he didn't go blind in that battle he likely wouldn't have any eyesight left to fight Sasuke later.

and the page after that jiraya says he didn't know what the black flames were, so he didn't know about the MS ability so he wouldn't have been looking out for amatsaru to avoid it or went into sage mode asap, thus getting burnt to death by amatsaru

When Jiraiya saved Naruto from Kisame and Itachi in the first series, it was made obvious by Itachi's retreat that he knew that a battle with Jiraiya would result in his loss.
My favorite character is Itachi but I gotta go with Jiraiya wins

itachi,s best moves f' up his body while jiraiyas boost him up to god-like standards.

Those stats also show that jiraiya is more all around when it comes to abilities than itachi, but the only exception is that Jiraiya isn't good at using genjutsu. His only score that is under 4.5/5 is genjutsu at 3/5.
