hmm well it all depends on what form of kabuto we are talking about i love how ppl pit opponents against each other, and one has a handicap, if we are indeed talking about a alive (not edo) itachi and a kabuto (with oro's cells) who in the timeline in the manga could never fight..... but anyways not getting into it.... i dunno who wins would be very interesting, as we know itachi was holding back and needed to stop edo and also kabuto didnt want to hurt sasuke, so he couldnt be a total badass

I seriously don't understand how people can say that a non-edo itachi can beat Kabuto in a 1v1 fight. Kabuto is basically custom built to beat Itachi. Look at it this way.

Amaterasu? Kabuto uses oral rebirth and continues on

Fire/ Water release? Fire release is countered by kabuto's own water release, whilst the water release Itachi has shown don't really pose any real threat due to Kabuto's dodging capabilities.

Tsukuyomi/ Genjutsu? Completely useless because kabuto closes his eyes.

Sword of Totsuka? Sage mode sensing/dodging renders this useless. If he dodged amaterasu arrow he is dodging the sword. It is a manga fact that totsuka has never hit a moving target, only stationary people. Even on the off chance he does get hit, he can liquify thanks to suigetsu's DNA.

Susanoo? Kabuto has at least 4 counters. White rage to make Itachi drop it and be paralysed. Sound genjutsu from Tayaya, which he can't get out of without assistance. Bone forest from Kimi or Inorganic transmutation can be used to erupt underneat susano'o, piercing Itachi.

Izanami? Itachi literally said it himself that Izanami can't be used in battle situations. The only reason Itachi pulled it off was because he was Edo, and even then he died twice to set it off.

So quite obviously, Kabuto takes this. Kabuto counters anything itachi has, he is faster than itachi, he is much stronger than itachi, his attacks can easily overcome susano'o. He can easily makes amaterasu and genjutsu useless and is superior in taijutsu thanks to suigetsu's liquefaction techniques. His stamina is unlimited thanks to sage mode whilst Itachi has stamina problems. I haven't even mentioned Kabuto's summons since he doesn't really need them.

He is ahead in ninjutsu, taijutsu, even genjutsu (since Itachi's are useless), speed, strength and stamina all by a good margin in this match, and is either higher or equal in intellect. Itachi loses in a proper fight every time. Also if someone seriously says "Itachi wasn't trying to kill Kabuto" think about this - Kabuto was also not aiming to kill since he had to make sure not to kill Sasuke.

well clearly he is better...plain and simple, what happened is kishi pretty much setup kabuto on the level of duking it out with killer bee and naruto or even somehow twisting it to a fight with madara. But he instead decided to get the uchihas in it and finish kabuto, hence the random and useless in any scenario but that one tech known as izanami.

I agree that Kabuto > Itachi, i think a lot pf people disagree because Kabuto gained a huge chunk of his power from absorbing Orochimaru's/Sound 5's powers and abilities. honestly though, Kabuto was probably equal to Kakashi in the "pre-shippuden chapters"

Ok! This entire argument is pointless. You all are going off a what if scenario, which is retarded. Your saying Kabuto could beat Itachi if Itachi Wasn't Edo. Well Itachi was Edo and beat Kabuto, that's what happened. But hey maybe I should give the "what if" scenario a try. Just one Kage could beat the crap out of Madara if Madara didn't have any arms or legs. Yes a little over exaggeration but same basic level of pointlessness, and to go more into the Kabuto>Itachi post there's a ton of counter argument any1 can throw at you such as when you said Itachi only won because he was Edo, well Kabuto was only that strong cause of DNA he stole from numerous ppl; Orochimarus DNA being the most which lead Kabuto in getting that sage mode, if you recall. 1st. what does that even mean soloing white rage..? Itachi was on his knees because he couldn't concentrate he was barley able to save Sauske there.

2nd. What makes you think Tayuya's genjutsu wont work a 2nd time? it travels by sound. or are you just pulling that out of your ass?

3rd. Kabuto has counter's for MOST OF ITACHI's JUTSU.

Kabuto can beat almost anyone in the Manga so far if you want to be honest. But battles like these are always situational. You can't just say someone wins because they can counter everything the other person is doing. Itachi winning through Izanami is proof of this. Like I have said 100x already and I am still waiting for a answer to this question. If Kishi wrote out a 1v1 between Kabuto and Itachi, who do you think he would make the winner. That is the winner of this battle. A very honest question that deserves a honest answer.

You do realize we only give people the powers they have attained WHILE LIVING. That's generally the logical way to go...so no. In a fair fight, we judge based on a living, breathing Itachi.

Also, 1 useful thing Sasuke thing was free Itachi from Tayuya's genjutsu...Also he saved Itachi when Kabuto speared him with a ton of stalagmites and stalagtites. Itachi would have lost both times there if it weren't for Sasuke.

If itachi wanted he could have ended the fight between the two of them much faster. Instead he chose too let kabuto off easy because he is such a nice guy. Itachi put him in an awesome genjutsu and won the fight. If he were alive it would have went the same way so dont hand me that edo stuff. He is a beast who out matches kabuto in jutsu in skill. I hate how people act like edo tensei make him invincble. Edo tensei takes prep time like grave robbing and applying the seal that makes them work correctly. You know who else kicks *ss with prep time konan who even almost killed tobi. Something naruto, bee, gai and kakashi have failed to do. However she is at the top of no one top ten list. A Itachi who was really trying to kill kabuto would have done so(If abuto had not been perparing for a war and had 50 edos stacked against him.

it would be a great fight.... itachi wasnt trying to kil him , he wanted to undo the jutsu ... so we dont know. Yeah itachi died twice in the fight , but we dont know if it was a planed event. Simular to the beginning of the loop. For example Madra meteor attack on himself. I t was planned , knowing he wouldnt die. Itachi ..as far as we know hast fought many peple as equally smart as kabuto , who knows maybe kabuto will do the jutsu again and bring im back for round 2. lol
