Thing is, we don't what Hiruzen was like when he was in his prime. When old he could beat full-powered Oro, weakened Hashirama & Tobirama - that pretty good right?

Yeah right now, i do think Hashirama > Hiruzen. But you never know we may some changes as we haven't seen anything of what Hiruzen knows.

Truth Is Hiruzen is not really respected even though he was 216 years old the man was pretty good at fighting. Remember those were his masters and students he didn't want to fight them in the first place.
