first of all that was pre time skip and im pretty sure iruka was the one saying that stuff about him or some fodder ninja and that was like 6 years ago the recent chapters are EXCESSIVELY dubbing hashirama god of shinobi while hiruzen is standing right next to him NOT being called god of shinobi

No man, back then, in Hiruzen prime, when he fought Hashirama and Tobirama, the first 2 hokages weren't even close to their full extent meaning strength yet he was having hard time against these 2.

But I do believe that yes the only way to defeat Madara is reaper death, but with overall fight, the victor still be Madara.

Don't forget that 4th hokage also invented the technique.

Considering the amount of clones Hiruzen can create at a given time....Madara can easily spam Mokuton clones.
