from previous episodes, jinchurikis powers were stored in this " Gedo Mazo" , it was there all along even before storing powers in it, so by logic it should be a vessel strong enough to contain all tailed beasts powers, it need 8 + 9 tails power to be @ full power and merge that power to become Juubi, just an opinion
he didnt teleported to the moon and get it the gedo mazo wain nagato's summoning and didnt disappear when he die and then tobi took the rinnegan which is how he is controlling it.
ok now before this has been made countless times. most of you are going to say im wrong well here is the 4 reason why he may be the juubi.
1 the nine eyes: is it so particulary obvious he has nine eyes. ok there are nine beasts and it seems the gedomazdo was meant to seal them away. but i believe it is the juubi's "hollow" body. a body which without the souls of the nine beasts (chakra) cannot function on its on. so what if after all tailed beasts are sealed and blindfold comes off. will it just be another set of eyes or will gedo mazdo have the juubi eye
2 how tobi got ahold of it. ok this the narutoverse people. tobi may have teleported to the moon. wha you ask he made the claim he could go anywhere he wanted and there is actually no heard of range of the teleportation process. so techically tobi has omnipresence. thus he could got to the juubi. warp the body away and get back to the world

has you can tell i numbered the tails on the juubi. so the other 4 things on its head are not tails. if you look at the gedo mazdo pic. then at the juubi pick you'll see a simular placement of horns or stubs (whichever) also look at the gedomazo broken pieces im sure if you count them side to back their would be 10. so how come so many things about looks match up with both. thats because their are only 2 plausibilities
1 it is the juubi
2 a anti juubi weapon created by the so6p himself
4 power: just in its hollow anc controled form it at actually was enough for the gedo mazdo to take on a entire battlefield worth of enemies and even a super sized chouji and his father. hell it took a butterfly bullet punch and did not even flinch. also the sheer attack power is enough to match a tailed beast. also the way it chains them in the manga reminds of another thing. it so obivious tobi may not be uchiha but uzumaki. because the only other person with the chain ability is kushina uzumaki (naruto's mom). it seems like it can just bind the tailed beast no matter how strong or even the amount a group that pushes against it.
after this all set in done
i came up with this calculation
its the juubi: 40%
a weapon made for the containment of the juubi: 30%
just another summon or created old tech: 30%
anyway also another thing legends can change over time. maybe the sage created the moon and sealed the body and tobi got some how. or the legend itself was wrong and the juubi body was still on the planet
I went through your post and I have some queries/contradictions here:
1. 10-Tails has only one eye so far we have seen in manga/anime. While Gedo Mezo has 9 eyes.
2. It was said in manga/anime (I guess Kisame) that 9 tails must be put into gedo mezo at the end after sealing all other 8 bijuus otherwise this statue will break.
3. If tobi would teleport to moon and bring 10-Tails body to earth then Tobi will be definitely dead because he doesn't have huge huge chakra to teleport 10-Tails from moon to earth. (like Minato teleported Kurama and lost most of his chakra just to teleport Kurama away from Konoha)
4. Nagato used it as a tool for soul ripping jutsu. I doubt at that time, he was running after capturing bijuus.
IMO, it is personal summoning for all the rinnegan wielders.
Yes Tobi could have teleported the Gedo and show to Nagato how it is summoned. And maybe Tobi taught it with sharingan technique so Nagato wouldn't even realise it.
People are talking here about Madara being able to summon Gedo but we haven't seen it yet I bet he can't do it.
This actually makes alot of sense it would explain why the gedo is only accessible to Rin users and why it's such a beast Summon also why it can snatch and hold tails beats like its nothing.

Actually he can only stay intangible for 5 minutes at most, do you honestly think he could somehow get the Jyuubi out of the moon and then teleport it ALL the way back to Earth while leaving the moon completely in tact before his time ran out and he suffocated? Other people are underrating him, but you are indeed overrating him and not even taking the weaknesses and limitations of his space time jutsu into consideration.
I'm not trying to down play you or say your wrong though, I just want you to consider the things that I mentioned before jumping the gun and saying the Tobi could do it. not only is there that fact, but even he has chakra limitations. Though we just haven't seen him really do much to exhaust himself so no one really knows his chakra limits, or stamina, or how much it takes to exhaust him so to those who claim he couldn't do it because Minato wouldn't have been able to without killing himself are totally out of line. Just because they clashed that once does not automatically make them the same.
yeah i think you are right, bothe gedo mazo and juubi have many similotaries. I doubt its a anti-juubi weapon, because Tobi wouldnt use it otherwise, but if its, then o think is some kind of technique the so6p used on him, it also resembles him in some ways. But nice speculations, congrats

The only reasons I say it is not, is that Tobi state that it was sealed in the moon. If he already had it why wouldnt he say he had already retrireved the body, putting more fear into this war
And mostly, because its called the gedo mazdo by tobi/zestu/pein, not the juubi
