gedo mazdo is the juubi

I am not sure why the shackles are there, but I know that they can be removed without trouble. Doesn't sound like the work of the So6P, done in order to prevent the Juubi from returning. If he had done it, you can bet the shackles wouldn't come off.

I think something that needs to be figured out first is the Masked Man's true identity, if we knew that it would make it that much easier/ To figure that out i posed a question to myself that I have not been able to answer, and that is this: Who else in the Naruto world excluding Naruto, Nagato, and J-Man would desire peace enough to go to such measures? What would have to happen to this person to drive them this far, for Nagato it was the death of Yohiko. If you wanna figure out Masked Man's identity before it is revealed in the Manga, this question must first be answered.

I think if it was the elder son he would have been able to accomplish the moon's eye plan long ago.

He may have simply wanted a new Jinchuriki to guide the world: ie, Naruto, the 'guy [he] was talking about'. In any case, it is 100% certain that the Rikudou did not want the Juubi revived with all it's chakra and it's own body, so giving access to the body at all when a jinchuuriki can be made using only chakra is pointless and dangerous, and therefore not likely to have been something done by the sage.

We have no idea if and how the Rikudou could have made the Juubi's body into a summon that is tied not to himself but to anyone possessing a Rinnegan, but I'll let that slide because that guy is pretty much a god.

What you say is possible since it's clear that the Rikudou anticipated other Rinnegan users after himself, but I can't imagine why he would allow such easy access to a key piece required in reviving the most dangerous thing in the Naruto world to literally anyone who gets a Rinnegan. You can rip it out of someone else's eye socket, as Tobi did to Nagato.

I'm almost certain that the thing you quoted was actually the prophecy to Jiraiya, which was referring to Naruto and not the Rinnegan.

I think the sage thought that everyone was going to be all sagelike ..like he didnt think people would bijuus and ninja to fight and stuff...therefore i think he didnt seal the body in the moon...he might have sealed half of the juubi or something in the moon ...like kyuubi half is sealed in the death god...then the rest he might have made the rest of the bijuus out of the chakra...think of it like he took most of the hate out of the juubi and left it purified...then took the most of the chakra out ...and then sealed what was left with a rinnegan tech so only rinnegan people can summon it..

@Red: Even if the Jubi was actually revived, it could only be done by someone who possessed the Rinnegan and could actually control the beast. However, even if the Jubi wasn't revived, how could he know if the future jinchuriki of the Bijuus be a "God of Creation" who will calm the world, or a "Destroyer" who will reduce everything to nothingness; it would be the same all together... it all depends on the intentions of the one who will use that power. Jubi or just jinchuriki, the amount of power used will be the same.

And this is also related to the quote about the Rinnegan: it depends on the intentions of the one who will control that power... whether it be a Rinnegan user or not.

My impression is that the Juubi's body is most or almost all of the moon. Therefore, Gedo Mazo is way too small. Also, Gedo Mazo has no tails. Also, the Juubi has one eye, not nine.

I will give this theory more than 40%. Tobi has been known to lie about things and give twisted information like "rinnegan require uchiha and senju DNA", " I am Madara" etc. So there is a possibility that he is hiding the truth behind gado mazo and i wont put my money on his assertion "Jyubbi sealed in the moon".

I think if Tobi is able to seal all the 9 bijuu's; the handcuffs will be released and the blind fold will be removed revealing the tenth eye and the nine eyes that we see will form the "nine tomoe sharingan/rinnegan" to reveal the true nature of jyubii.
There should be a reason why gado mazo is able to hold the bijuu chakra in itself; may be it was were that chakra originated from... !

I think I'd go with that. Maybe obito went to d moon, after he got his teleportation jutsu. A year in thge moon is 28 earth days, which would explain why he grew old, so quickly. Maybe while being there, he discovered or was shown gedomazo by zetsu. Besides he was only able to summon it after he got nagato's rinnegan, which nagato had also done before. That only leaves one question, "how did nagato know about gedo mazo?" Could jiraiya have told him?
