I never said Luffy wouldn't become pirate king, but at the same time Pirate King is not a rank it's just a title. Even Buggy can be Pirate King and never surpass any yonkou for that matter.

That hard work trumps talent is cute, and Naruto made a living out of it but that doesn't really seems to be the case in One Piece that much. Because Big Mom was literally dubbed a natural born destroyer. At 5 she had the power to 1 hit kill a giant warrior. So that is not something I made up, that is something you can find in the manga.

And of course we see the growth of the protagonist from chapter 1 to chapter last, and we all know that Luffy will be pirate king. And no that wouldn't be interesting if he had overpowered abilities. So why the hell bring that up in the first place. It's irrelevant to the argument that in this rate if people think Luffy will surpass a yonkou 1 vs 1. And If zoro surpasses Mihawk who people deem on yonkou level (which I doubt) he would be on yonkou level, and you still have Sanji and Jimbe who together at this rate also might be at yonkou level.

So what I'm saying is is that at some point in time there has to be a stop on Luffy's growth where he hits his next ceiling. And I think he hit it now by fighting against a yonkou without prevail.

Because if Oda would continue like this he would break the world constructs and his powerscale. It would be bullshit if there is 1 crew of 10 people that holds the power of 3 yonkou + change.

Dragonball Z painted itself in that corner where the only way out was more power ! new form. New enemy MORE POWER ! But One Piece never rolled that way, At times Luffy was clearly outmatched and in part 1 he basically was surviving ever since he fought Lucci because he was getting outmatched.

Now in the New World there is nowhere to run, and he is not doing well against a yonkou, nor is Bege or Kidd, Hawkins, Apoo and Killer.

So something has got to give in order to progress, but without some asspull or power of friendship how do you see Luffy surpassing a yonkou from this point in time till he reaches Raftel, while having angered 2 yonkou. Please explain it to me, maybe we can laugh again.

My guy, idk what you're smoking but it must be something strong if you think Doffy can't beat Blackebeards commanders. Doffy on a good day (didn't fight anyone full energy) will wreck anyone in Blackbeards crew. He has all 3 Hakis, his devil fruit abilities are insane, he can heal himself, make clones that are strong As hell, his awakening is insanely strong, and so is his stamina and natural strength. He's so underrated on here it amazes me.
