Please guys, stop using the Sannin battle to prove anything. Everyone there was handicapped and summons pretty much did most of the fighting anyway.

Also, too much credit is given to Susano'o and that Yata Mirror of his. It was never tested against very powerful attacks. Seriously, Susan'o was proven to be a great defense, but I always wondered, for example, what would happen if it got hit with something like mountain hollowing super great ball rasengan. I seriously doubt even Yata Mirror could just repel it that easily.

All things accounted for, I think Itachi would take Jiraya down about 8/10 times assuming that neither is aware of eachother's best techniques (like Itachi's MS techs and maybe Jiraya's SM). But speaking specifically in regard to part 1's 'Search for Tsunade' arc, I think that Itachi was not accounting for his MS and assumed the battle would have to be fought carefully on his and Kisame's side. But ya if it's straight up, no holds bard, Itachi and Kisame vs. Jiraya with Jiraya having no knowledge of Itachi's MS and Samehada's chakra absorption, Jiraya would loose prlly more than 95% of the time.
