Actually, Kishi had emphasized the fact that he'd set up a "love-triangle" between Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto since the very beginning.

In Part 1, it went as follows: Naruto ---> Sakura ---> Sasuke

Part 2, it's more like this: Sakura ---> Sasuke <---- Naruto

But after the Pain arc, it's geared more toward: Sakura ---->? Sasuke and Hinata <----> Naruto

Here's the deal. I WANT Naruto to end up with Hinata. But I don't see Kishi doing it. He has literally built up Naruto and Sakura since the very beginning. Of course Sakura is a terrible character, and Hinata owns her every day. But I think including Hinata was mainly just to provide another example about how Naruto changes people. The fact that Hinata has always been a side character is the main problem. The only way I see them getting together is if they actually get separated from everyone else for some reason, and are by themselves for enough time for Hinata to become more important. But really, the chances are more in favor of Hinata dying by sacrificing herself for Naruto, and then Sakura changing her ways after seeing that.

Still, I retain hope that Naruhina becomes a reality!
