I was actually thinking about this today (not sure why). One thing I noticed was a similarity between hinata and Kushina. Now kushina hated her hair, until minato saved her and gave her confidence as a result. After that she started beleiving in herself and started liking her hair. Now think of when hinata was saved in the war by naruto, naruto gave her confidence. After that her resolve is stronger than ever and she now wants to be by his side the next time they meet. To me they seem very similiar, and possibly suggests that they will eventually be together.

Most probably, it will happen during next Team7 reaunion. They are main characters, Hinata is side character.

About the bolded part, Hinata is a friend for Naruto, and it was that way for quite long time. He aknowledged her confession, but nothing suggest that hes feelings changed becuase of it.

Sakura doesn't love Naruto... If she hasn't fallen for him even when Sasuke, the guy she's hopelessly fallen in love with, was gone, what makes you think she could suddenly do it at the end of the manga and especially at a Team 7 reunion with Sasuke present?

Hinata being a side charcter has squat to do with anything. She may be a side character, but she is also the most popular girl in the series. Usually it's the main girl but Hinata, a side character, surpassed Sakura. Also, what happened in DBZ, a manga that Kishimoto has stated time and time again that he gets his inspiration in writing Naruto from? Goku married Chichi, a side character, and not Bulma, the heroine.

Hinata and Naruto share a special bond. They are very good friends. Now, when Hinata jumped in to save his butt and you know... said three little words..., did you SEE naruto's face. He was shocked. A girl? Loved him? For him? By just being himself? All this time? And then she got stabbed... Naruto dropped his balls and nearly went the full 9 tails for her! :T_T: When he came out of Kyuubi mode, who was the first person he thought of? Hinata? He even cried for her and naruto has only cried for people he really cares about. I'm pretty sure that that day, hinata became more than "just a friend" in Naruto's head. She became a possible love interest for him.

Plus, if Naruto knew he would forever see her as "just a friend", he would've confronted her and told her to stop chasing him so that he wouldn't be leading her on for heartbreak. He's experienced that. I'm sure he wouldn't want Hinata to go through that. Also, during Sakura's confession, Naruto blatantly told her to "stop lying to herself". He rejected her. He knew for a fact that Sakura loved Sasuke. He's an idiot, not stupid.

Now, that chapter in which naruto saved Hinata had a whole bunch of foreshadowing by our very own Kishimoto-sama. Firstly, Hinata was seen taking big blow which symbolised all the things she's gone through to get naruto to see her. Naruto protecting her showed that he was here for her now. Also, here's the forsehadowing "Sorry for taking so long...." Naruto said, "Everything's alright now!"

In Japan, KakaIru is the most popular pairing... Says a lot... Also if you're going by that logic then you must realise that NaruHina is still more popular. Because, first comes SasuSaku. After SasuSaku, who would end up with Naruto? Hinata. Therefore, SasuSaku and NaruHina are the most popular sstraight pairings.
