Who did more for their Country? Minato or Itachi?

if itachi didn't exterminate his clan danzo would find another way to do it. however that would make them in front of villagers eyes. having itachi do it was the most logical option that's why it happened. however if it weren't for minato konoha would've been destroyed. third would've probably died same goes for naruto, and tobi would have one less village to fight in order to achieve his goals.

so I'll go with minato (I congratulate you for the title. this is the first time I'm picking minato over itachi)

itachi killed his whole clan which wasnt necessary what about all the non sharigan users? the children? the old plp? they didnt have to do die but they werent speared ? he did it for his village? did what? he created a monster in the end ( sasuke ) he had other options then killed off innocent plp. and his plan backed fired on him he tells his little brother to gain more hate and veagance but he doesnt want him to take veagance out on his village hm..?
minato saved the village from a fox attack sacrificed his own life and defeated tobi without killing innocent plp
itachi plan is fail from the start.

I also forgot to add that Minato is essentially protecting the leaf village even in death considering the power Naruto's using right now is due to Minato sealing the kyuubi in him.

Itachi on the other hand put the village in danger by not killing Sasuke. Now what does Sasuke want do? Destroy the entire village and slaughter every person in it.

And in return itachi has saved naruto on several occasions. .
Anyway ill agree that minato's gamble, yes thats what it is if you know the definition of a gamble, is paying of in naruto whilst itachi's gamble isnt. This is an entirely different scenario because you cannot fully judge them and base your decision on others.

Still believe it was a good idea not to kill sasuke though. U_U

Well i guess they are equal, the only reason i chose Minato is because Itachi had a choice, Minato on the other hand didn't, he took all the decisions in the middle of the battle while trying to protect Konoha, Kushina and Naruto.
Yea he could have left Kushina die with the nine tails but he would still sacrifice his wife.

I think Itachi did more. Its pretty close though. Itachi went as far as to kill his own clan to protect the village. Not only that he acted as a rouge ninja to Konoha. He kept Tobi from capturing Naruto as well by making that pact with Tobi not to attack Konoha.

If Minato Didn't stop Tobi/Kyuubi, the Leaf would be Gone, the whole Fire country would be in Ruins.
Also depends if after Gaining the kyuubi and Destroying the Leaf if he would go after the other countries for their Beasts. (if this would of been the case, then Minato would come out on Top, But we will never know so it's kinda invalid)

Also if Minato Failed Itachi could have died when he was a Kid, so thank minato, Itachi Grew up to be a Badass

Who ever Say Itachi has to be high.
Manito Protected a Entire village+uchiha population combined with Leaf.
He protected the "future" and commited suicide. He did not do it for Naruto Only he did it for the whole Nation of Shinobi and he is still doing it as we speak with "that" jutsu. Itachi kill his own clan with "help" to protect "one" person and the "leaf" Government from being run by uchiha which in general wouldn't hurt the leafs population one bit, might even make them stronger. Sadly his Plan "fail" while Minato plan is still a success. "Get the Picture?" ​
