This scan without a doubt proves that the elders were enraged because the Uchiha were going after their POWER..
and just because they were going after their power, they were called traitors of the village.
Hypothetical Scenario:
See what people always forget is that Uchiha were the police of Konoha, they didn't work under Danzo or any of them. They were only under the Hokage himself, and so far the Hokage really didn't relate much to the Uchiha as shown. And as Tobirama said, even though he was careful of them (only due to the whole Sharingan hatred crap), they were still one of the most loyal clans of the village, hell Tobirama's feels came out seeing Sasuke killed.. Sasuke an Uchiha... There is no way in hell, that they didn't know about the dirty crap Danzo was doing (though realize this is a simple speculation based on the above statements).
Also, what i find funny is that people say the Uchiha were going to ATTACK the village.. but so far fail to provide evidence...
Was Hiruzen blind? Cause surely he as the Hokage daddy should've seen that the uchiha were getting riled up..
Was Hiruzen Weak or scared? Surely instead of having a kid spying on a clan of the village.. you yourself should be the one talking to them..
And then the ignorant 3 have the balls and vagina to say they are traitors... that people helped defend the village in the past 3 wars. And helped make the village, were traitors cause they wanted power? ROFL!
The problem wasn't that they were going to attack the village.. the problem was they were going to correct the government. And the government of geezers didn't want to loose power. ESPECIALLY DANZO.
Because Danzo made it clear, whether the result of the coup is war or not.. just by doing the coup they were asking to be killed.
Oh and everyone lets not forget Danzo's teammate Kagami surely knew about Danzo's little dirty work. Though i believe his revelation will play a big hand when the Uchiha coup is revealed from the Uchiha's point of view.
