i think that most people aren't putting enough emphasis on the 2nd Hokage in their decision. the 2nd had Edo Tensei and unknown Space Time Jutsu abilities. with a half decent preparation, every member of Akatsuki that died would end up on the Hokage Team, while every Kage that died (besides the 2nd) could stay in the battle.

not to mention that the 2nd vs Kisame = the craziest water jutsus the narutoverse has ever seen. 0_0

from this even though it is funny it is very true.. if akatski dies they become team hokage and if hokage die they stay in battle.lol this gives them hell of an advantage.

no hidan > shikamaru. shikamaru buried him because he got kakuzus blood from kakashi and extensive prep time with the paper bombs. that trap could beat virtually any jounin. and shika knew about the curse whereas hokages will be like "wtf is he doing?"

no hes quite sane. hokages are overwanked and overhyped by everyone on narutobase. we know almost nothing about the true powers of the first 3 and minato/tsunade just arent strong enough to handle akatsukis.

Theres a genjutsu called Bringer of Darkness (ever heard of it?!) that pretty much renders dojutsu useless

no actually it makes them have the advantage. sharingan sees through genjutsus and reverses them. rinnegans pain bodies can break each other out or revive each other via naraka.

hashirama: seen in manga how ****ing pumped up madara (the real one) is and hashirama beat him

we dont know how he beat him or what actually happened. madara could have been sick and weak already. the world thinks madara DIED and since hashirama did not, they thought he must have won. but i think they knocked each other out, madara woke up first, placed a clone to fake his death, and left with hashiramas power. it could have happened that way for all we know.

He's got impure world resurrection, tho not mastered, but might be enough to summon some quality dead minions

and a crazy ass sword weilder kisame
aswell as deidara and konan who can drop a C4 or split a lake and blow the crap outta them ,
they all have time to do their techniques ie. rituals , prep coz the others would stall time , (sasori and puppets, kisame hey zetsu could even stall lol :L or they might just have a good chance killing them , tobi , nagato etc .. )
