Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, was said to be the strongest Hokage in the village's history, as well as strongest of the Five Kage of his era.
Which during his era was, A the Raikage (Known for having chakra level comparable to that of a tailed beast and many argue to this day is the fastest ninja alive), Onoki the 3rd Tsuchikage (one of only 2 people that are known to have it and it's destruction Powers), Yagura the 4th Mizukage (the Sanbi Jinchuriki who is one of 4 people to be known for EVER being able to control a Tailed beast), and last but not least the 3rd Kazekage (a Iron Sand user and is hailed as the village's strongest Kazekage)

Hey if you don't like hearing it or even believing it I'm sorry. Kishimoto said it himself so I'm just letting you all know.

i jus recentli watched the episode on anime where kabuto made that comment..from what he said he was suggesting 3rd wasn't the strongest of the hokages..what he was saying was the hokage is usually the strongest amongst the other kages and oro defeated him (it jus happens to be 3rd)...he was jus saying itt o make oro feelbetter about losin hir arms

"his(4th's) capabilities as a ninja were unrivaled in history..." Jiraiya ep90 of Naruto
Jiraiya knew about all hokages capabilities...so no the 3rd wasn't the strongest kage it was 4th

Animes are not that accurate. It's like saying Kakashi can use the Ice element from the movie.

Yeah and he can control the Tailed Beasts. I know I've looked it up. His prowess and abilities were so great that he was able to not only fight on equal footing with Madara despite the power of his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and having the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox at his side, but also survive the battle and gain victory in the end. The injuries which he caused to Madara were so great that even decades later they still affect him tremendously.

I know he is strong but the Writer, Designer, Creator, Mastermind of the greatest Manga.... (in my opinion) Kishimoto wrote that himself in his first Databook.

If Kishi said that Hiruzen was the the strongest then it is so no point in saying 1st or the 4th are stronger.

i forget where i read this (could've miss read or sumthin) but i thought i saw an interview with kishi sayin the fourth is the strongest dead ninja he has created. like i said, i could've missread or sumthin but..

i forget where i read this (could've miss read or sumthin) but i thought i saw an interview with kishi sayin the fourth is the strongest dead ninja he has created. like i said, i could've missread or sumthin but..

yes i understand there are diferences, but what anime provides and the manga doesnt is the 'tone', so if u look at the tone and context of kabuto's comment u'l see it has veri little validity.
3rd cannot b stronger than 4th for mani reasons..both 3rd n 4th were hokages so must b exceptional ninjas but theres no point of 3rd having vast knowledge if he cant keep up wit 4th...don't forget the 4th was also a genius..he found a weakness in kakashi's chidori jus looking at it for the first time..similar example..before the chunin exam when lee was fighting suske, he said theres no point in suske using his sharingan to analyse lee's moves since he cant keep up with it. plus i'm sure u are aware in the world of shinobi speed determines the victor unless the opponent totalli outmatched
