(Shoukyoku Kousen) – Negative Beam

Description: The user will channel their chakra into the index finger of their dominant hand to manifest a light-green coating of chakra over the tip of that finger. Then in one smooth motion, he will fire it towards his intended target as a narrow beam of green chakra. If used on an ally, this jutsu can be used to prevent them from being caught in a attack by "pushing" them out of the way. If used on any part of the terrain in very close proximity (e.g. walls/the ground), this jutsu can be used in a similar manner to Wind Release: Hurricane Fist, allowing the user to propel themselves in a certain direction, but with more much effectiveness due to the force behind the beam. This jutsu can also be used to knock away solid attacks such as Earth Release: Dropping Lid and Earth Release: Stone Golem, making this jutsu even more versatile in use. The beam itself reaches its target near-instantaneously, however since it deals no damage, stand alone this jutsu isn't dangerous to the opponent. To push away such large solid attacks as the ones listed above, the user will fire a wider beam with much more force behind it, but nonetheless retaining its non-damaging nature since the attack has no mass and is simply a blunt pushing-force.

However, if he wishes to use this technique on threads he isn't connected to, Kakuzu must perform a single handseal.

Description: The user will focus their chakra into the opponent's body to give rise to a basic yet potent illusionary technique. The genjutsu consists of the opponent being made to smell any fragrance, fumes or odour of the user's choice in order to give rise to bodily reflexes e.g. the gag reflex. The technique's utility can range from producing the most stagnant and unbearable of odours composed of rotting flesh, fungal structures, animal manure and similar unfavourable smells. This will give rise to the gag reflex, causing the opponent to vomit uncontrollably and undergo excessive tearing of the eyes, as the body makes its natural response to a strong smell of decay and death filling the air around them. Similarly, they can cause the opponent to smell a powerful poisonous gas which causes excessive wheezing, hyperventilation and the occasional coughing up of blood. On the complete other side of the scale, the user can create the most pleasant of perfumes and fragrances fill the air, lulling the opponent in a state of complete calmness, serenity and bliss, distracting them from the battle at hand. This "forced" state of calmness will rob them of adrenaline, resulting in a slight decrease in speed and urgency in the way they react to techniques/attacks. A final usage of this technique allows the user to create miscellaneous smells which produce no bodily reactions, but might fool the user into suspecting an invisible gas-based technique targeting them. A good example of this is, causing the opponent to smell natural gas in the vicinity around them, possibly making them more inclined to avoid usage of fire or lightning-based techniques. This technique doesn't force them to avoid using these elements, but instils the mindset that it could be life-threatening to use them.

Description: This is Kakuzu's ultimate defense inspired by his signature technique Earth Release: Earth Spear. After channeling his doton chakra throughout the dark threads within his body, he causes them to become extremely tightly woven together, before hardening them to the extent they become near impossible to cut/break through. This technique can harden the threads within a single limb or the entirety of the user's body, making this a very versatile technique. Whilst active, the affected body parts become capable of enduring powerful impact forces with little damage to the exterior. Due to this, the user can't be pierced (past their skin) with ordinary weapons e.g. swords, lances, spears, whilst the technique is active. However, the jutsu comes with the glaring downside of the user being unable to move the hardened body parts so long as the technique is active due to the affected body parts becoming insanely stiff, making full body hardening a last resort. The technique itself has no visible effects, allowing the user to deceive their opponent in various ways. An alternative use of the technique is supplementing the user's Taijutsu, as the technique gives hits much more strength than ordinary blows. This can be achieved through the user hardening their hand during a punch or their foot during a kick to slightly overcome the technique's weakness. However, this only makes the user more resistant to physical/force intensive attacks e.g. crushing slabs of rock, blades of cutting wind, waves of water and etc. This doesn't make the user resistant to burning, electrocution or similar attacks. This jutsu doesn't protect the skin itself (meaning it can still be pierced), but doesn't let weapons/attacks pierce any further than that.

Description: The user will cast themselves in a genjutsu which predominately affects their sense of sight. The technique will distort the way in which their optical system perceives light, by making them much more sensitive to miniscule refractions and even the tiniest sources of light. As a result, whenever any type of colourless gas is used, light refracts ever so slightly due to the change in the atmosphere, unnoticeable to the naked eye, the user's newly gained optical sensitivity will enable him to notice such miniscule refractions of light and hence pinpoint the vicinity in which the colourless gas is residing. Furthermore, this optical sensitivity also extends to becoming capable of seeing the various types of radiation and not only visible light (much like ordinary shinobi). This technique makes the user's eyes capable of receiving any and every frequency of the EM Spectrum, thus allowing them to perceive their existence. This technique is often seen as the polar opposite to Bringer-of-Darkness Technique, as rather than robbing the user of their sight, it amplifies certain aspects of it to a whole new level. The basis of the technique stems from granting the user "bug-like vision", so to allow them to effectively combat ninja capable of utilizing attacks invisible to the naked eye. However, this technique does come with a serious drawback. Techniques which seek to blind the user e.g. Lightning Illusion Flash Pillar, or attacks which innately give off large amount of light (Fire/Lightning and other energy based elements) will take their toll on the user's eyes, making it more painful to see, if not temporarily blinding them. Alternatively, the user can cast this genjutsu on an opponent to exploit the technique's well known weakness and hence cause them much optical discomfort with the repetitive use of bright energy based elements.

Description: This Genjutsu can only be cast on those utilizing Sage Mode, Curse Mark and similar variants. The user will release their chakra into the opponent's mind to give rise to a powerful illusion which cause the opponent to lose control of the foreign chakra residing in their body, resulting in many adverse effects in reality. An SM user will become incapable of moderating the amount of natural energy they gather, causing them too overload their body with natural energy, causing them to undergo full body petrifaction. Using natural energy as a means of breaking this genjutsu will only serve the purpose of accelerating this process, making them turn to stone at an even quicker rate. Curse Mark users will become incapable of sustaining the effects of the foreign chakra in the cursed seal, forcing a natural bodily response of deactivating the seal/transformation and returning the body to its previous stable state (normal shinobi), to prevent the cursed seal's chakra from successfully invading and taking full control of their chakra system.

Description: The user will release their doton chakra into the ground to cause two to four colossal armoured prehistoric crocodile-like creatures composed entirely of earth (and coated in adhesive mud) to surface beneath or around their position, each being the same size as the A-Rank Stone Golem. The user will then focus their suiton chakra into each of the creatures to cause the humanoid crocodiles to secrete a dense layer of adhesive water (Similar to Water Release: Starch Syrup Capture Field) from every point on their gargantuan bodies, causing the already present layer of adhesive mud to fuse with the sticky water to make for a very dense, viscous and adhesive mixture. As a result the crocodiles become capable of traversing through even the densest and stickiest of mediums e.g. Swamp of the Underworld. This makes them extremely proficient in swimming through similar liquids, with their maneuverability being heightened the denser the medium they are traveling through. On land, these creatures are extremely sluggish, in water or when they are submerged with solid ground, they match the speed of an average aquatic creature, in adhesive mud and liquid metals, their speed is unsurpassed, partly because they aren't hampered by the sheer viscousity of such mediums. The composition of the adhesive water/mud-like layer grants it properties of being both extremely viscous and an unparalleled level of stickiness. The viscosity of the mixture makes it so that weapons or physical objects can only partially pass through it until they run out of momentum, making Taijutsu and Kenjutsu ineffective against these creatures, as the user's body/weapon will cling to them, preventing further maneuverability. This also translates to kunai, swords and other projectiles become trapped inside the mixture. Its stickiness also grants it the effect of being able to congeal semi-solid elements together such as: Sand, Gold sand and Iron sand. Rendering them ineffective as they can no longer reform and reshape, a property they depend on in combat. This interaction is similar to the 2nd Mizukage's oily water breaking down Gaara's sand, but on a much higher level, making it capable of affecting all sand-based elements. One final property granted by the adhesive water/mud-like layer is that the creatures become extremely resistant to burning and heat based elements (due to infusion of water), protecting the hard, rocky interior of the large beasts. Alternatively, these crocodiles can be used whilst the user is submerged in a swamp or they can be spewed directly from the user's mouth, meaning the user doesn't have to be in contact with the ground to use this technique. The crocodiles also possess extremely long jaws capable of biting down with crushing force and spiked tails which can be used for physical attacks.

Description: Kakuzu will connect his wrists together and push his hands outwards whilst pointing them at the floor directly below him before protruding his Suiton mask from either of them. Simultaneously, he will release his doton chakra into the ground below to cause a massive wave of earth to spread out from his position in a circular motion (360 degrees around him) which will crush anyone and anything in its wake, as well as devastate the terrain on an unimaginable level. The wave of earth will grow in height as it spreads out, leaving the resulting effect as a massive crater in the middle of the battlefield, the center point of the newly formed crater being the user's position. As the wave of earth is released in every direction, the suiton mask will spew an unimaginable quantity of water from its mouth, slightly greater than the amount produced by Kisame's signature Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave. The wave of water will uplift the user high into the air, whilst spreading out in every direction to flood the vicinity around the user, the vast quantity of liquid quickly filling up the earthen crater, causing for the creation of a water source on near oceanic proportions. The water created by this technique is similar to that of Water Release: Starch Syrup Capture Field, its sheer adhestivity, density and viscosity making it impossible for electrical currents to be conducted along it, minimizing the user's vulnerability whilst utilizing this technique. This adhesive water will ensnare any opponents unlucky enough to come into contact with it, trapping them in a dense layer of sticky slime-like water, preventing further mobility. However since the sticky water is created from the user's own chakra, they will not be affected by the adhesiveness of the created water source. The water source (and crater) created via this technique will span a thirty meter radius around the user's position and is considered a "Large water source", abundant enough to be used for techniques like Water Release: Great Shark Missile Technique and Water Release: A Thousand Feeding Sharks. Using this technique will take a visible and fairly significant toll on the user's body, making them incapable of using S-Rank and above Doton in the same and next turn, no handseals for two turns and no Forbidden Ranked elemental jutsu in their next turn.

Description: Whilst moving or airborne, Kakuzu will focus his chakra into his Katon and Fuuton masks to cause them to protrude ever so slightly from his back. As they do this, the masks will exhale a narrow jet of high-speed wind-infused flames as an intense cannon towards the ground (or air), at a certain angle to serve a specific purpose. The wind serves the purpose of both augmenting the speed and force of the fire, making it more suited to serving its intended purpose. If aimed directly downwards, the user will be projected high up into the air, allowing them to avoid techniques which don't cover an expansive vertical reach. If aimed directly backwards (towards the air), the user will move horizontally towards the opponent in a sudden burst of speed, the stream of fire providing a powerful but linear propulsion effect similar to that of a rocket. Similarly, the masks can exhale the narrow jet of flames at any angle, allowing the user to find the perfect balance between horizontal and vertical motion, specific to the task at hand. The speed of the user whilst using this technique will give the appearance that they have teleported to their new location, when in reality they're simply moving too fast to be tracked by the eyes of non-Doijutsu users. However, this jutsu can only be used to move in one direction e.g. a linear horizontal, vertical or diagonal path and sensory/Doijutsu users will be capable of detecting the build-up of chakra as well as tracking the user's movements. Ninja who do not possess such capabilities can instead rely on seeing the intense reddish glow emanating from behind the user's position, signifying a technique of some sort about to be used. Alternatively, whilst the user is stationary they can utilize this technique as an evasionary measure by using it to move side to side or vertically upwards, by instructing the masks to angle the stream of flames accordingly. Anyone directly behind the user's position whilst they use this technique (within five meters) will be caught within the jet of flames, leaving them with severe fourth degree burns due to the intensity, close proximity and force of the flames. The limit on the distance the user can cover with this technique is a maximum of one range e.g. moving from Short to Mid, Mid to Long, Mid to Short or Long to Mid.

Description: The user will focus their doton chakra into the ground anywhere on the battlefield, utilizing it to soften it to the extent it becomes almost flimsy, flexible enough to bend under even the smallest of stresses. In one smooth motion, they will then focus their suiton chakra into the ground to cause the entirety of the layer beneath the newly softened ground to gorge and fill up with a mass of extremely adhesive water similar to that of Water Release: Starch Syrup Capture Field. This water will build up in certain areas more than others, causing for the formation of hills and trenches alike, the hills being full to the brim of sticky water. The resulting effect of the adhesive water as well as the softened ground causes a trampoline-like effect, causing the terrain to become elastic enough to "bounce" around it without feeling harm nor undergoing difficulty. Furthermore, when the opponent steps, jumps or exerts even the most minute of forces on the ground below their feet, it will bend inward at an alarming rate, throwing them completely off balance before projecting them away into the air, before they land the same process repeats itself. Since the user is so attuned to fighting with this technique active, they will have no difficulty moving around the terrain. Once the hills are created, the user (at any time) can perform the Boar Handseal to cause that respective hill to erupt in a violent maelstrom of water, completely trapping the affected target in a dense layer of adhesive water, completely preventing their mobility. Alternatively, the user can use this technique on other rocky constructs (including the opponent's techniques) to serve a whole multitude of other purposes. On rocky creations such as Earth Release: Stone Golem and Earth Release: Earth and Stone Dragon Technique, the sudden softening and inflation of water will make them too slow, heavy and sluggish to even move, let alone pose a threat to the user. On terrain-affecting techniques such as Earth Release: Destructive Rising Rock Pillars and Earth Release: Anitlion Technique, the user will make it so they become so flexible, flimsy and elastic, that won't be capable of crushing/impaling the user, as well as making the user capable of "bouncing" away from them. Despite the fact this technique manipulates two chakra natures, each nature manipulation happens one after the other, with such speed, efficiency and chakra control, that this technique happens at the same speed of an average technique.

Description: The user will release their doton chakra into the ground to cause multiple sections of earth around the opponent to lower themselves in a circular-like shape, in a similar manner to Earth Release: Moving Earth Core. In the same motion, they will then focus their fuuton chakra into each and every one of the lowered sections of earth, before performing a single handseal to trigger a mild vacuum-like effect which will suck any objects/people moving directly over it to be sucked deep into the depths of the hole. Inside the hole, the wind chakra will be spiraling in a clockwise motion in the same manner as a tornado, carrying deposits of rock, dust, dirt and debris which greatly augments the cutting power of the already potent wind formation. Anyone or anything unfortunate enough to be caught inside one of the tornadoes will be skinned alive due to the sheer abrasiveness of the dust-infused wind, making this technique capable of even slicing through solid rock to reach its intended target. More commonly that not, the user will create the wormholes in a secure formation around the opponent to ensure any thrown projectiles or solid constructs they send towards the user will be promptly sucked into one of the wormholes, quickly being incinerated by the raging winds. This makes this technique exceedingly useful in countering techniques such as Earth Release: Stone Golem and Earth Release: Earth and Stone Dragon Technique, as the moment they move over any one of the user's created wormholes, they will become incapable of escaping the pull of the wind formation. Alternatively, the user can skip the first part of the technique and use this directly on an already lowered section/part of the terrain.

Description: The user will perform the Boar Handseal whilst focusing their chakra into a nearby solid element e.g. Earth, Paper, Sand, Clay and etc. The resulting effect will be the miniscule drops of water residing in the air around it, quickly converging on the target material/element, aiming to seep through the pores, cracks and crevices in the material, if not simply being absorbed by it. Whilst doing this, the water will take on a very dense, viscous and adhesive quality similar to that of Water Release: Starch Syrup Capture Field. The resulting effect of this forced absorption of moisture will cause the affected substance to gorge and inflate to an incredible size, but also become so heavy that it can no longer move, remain airborne or even be manipulated in the slightest. To signify this, the affected material will begin oozing out adhesive water from its openings, almost overflowing due to the great amount of sticky water its been forced to absorb e.g. Clay creatures will be "drooling" adhesive water from their mouths. This technique will have varying effects on different elements e.g. Paper will become too heavy/sticky and will begin to cling to other sheets of paper, Sand will become almost impossible to control/manipulate, Clay will become incapable of detonation and etc. However, one advantage does come from this technique, which is that the effected substance will no longer conduct any form of electrical currents and will develop a certain resistance to lightning-based elements. This doesn't make them immune to lightning techniques but rather impossible to affect by techniques such as Chidori Nagashi. However since the basis of this technique relies on water absorption, the user will be physically incapable of using it on metal or crystal-based elements. Furthermore, the affected material/element must be completely in solid form and not partially e.g. cannot effect Mud, Lava and similar solid-like liquids.

Description: The user will perform the Horse Handseal whilst focusing his chakra into a solid structure/element e.g. Earth, Crystal, Bones, Wood and etc.The resulting effect will be the target element beginning to vibrate at a dangerous rate, the user's lightning chakra causing the lattice structure of the element to gradually wear away and crumble, before exploding outward in a violet manner, unleashing pieces of that element as shrapnel in every direction, in a similar manner to how bullets function. This happens as a result of the raiton chakra destabilizing it, before forcefully causing the structure to erupt due the high frequency vibrations caused by the lightning. This technique is exceedingly useful in countering opponents who construct armours/defenses out of solid structures such as rocks, metals, crystals and so on, causing their defensive measure to completely backfire. However, because this technique causes the shrapnel to explode outward, if the opponent is wearing an armour he won't be impaled by exploding pieces of shrapnel, meaning this technique will only serve to disarm him from a distance. The exploding pieces of shrapnel move slightly faster than the speed of a thrown kunai, meaning any vigilant shinobi will be able to react and counter them before being impaled. The explosion caused by this technique will send the pieces of shrapnel in every direction short range from the point of eruption.

Description: After realizing he's caught in an illusionary technique, Kakuzu will channel his chakra throughout the dark threads within his body, to swiftly rearrange the position's of his masks, and the spots in which they reside. Furthermore, whilst they do this, he will instruct them to "spike" his chakra in such a way that, a massive disturbance in the user's chakra system occurs, making this technique capable of even dispelling Genjutsu techniques of the highest caliber. Any illusionary techniques the user was once under the effect of will systemically be broken, the moment the user activates this jutsu, as long as they are S-Rank and below in rank. Much like Kai, this technique will break all Genjutsus (excluding Forbidden Ranks and MS/EMS Genjutsus) and can only be used limited times in a battle. One advantage this technique boasts compared to its inferior cohort is that it can be performed without the use of handseals, allowing this technique to break paralyzing-type illusions.
