Pain! Can anyone truly beat him?

Theres no way that Naruto could beat Pain one on one, however when he does learn to control the kyubbi then its a different story. Pain's greatest strength is his different bodies, he could easily use the same strategy he used agaist Jiraiya where he only uses 3 bodies initially before revealing all 6 and destroying his opponent.

Itachi would have a chance but it all depends on his chakra reserves, as he would need to maintain an extrememly high standard of fighting against 6 opponents.

Madara is to much of a raw character to judge.

We need to sasuke's new EMS before we can say he has the power to match Pain but at the moment he's only just ahead of Naruto so he would still lose.

Maybe i wasn't clear, what i mean by one on one is both of them fighting with no prior knowledge, no interference and where the only objective of the fight is to beat the opponent, not to capture him, in that situation i think its quite clear that Pain would win.

Jiraiya went into battle with out info and died Did you not see the image that that dude showed you with pain pinning him down he use half his chakra to destroy the leaf and He could have beat Kyubi naruto (if he had more chakra he could have trapped the 9 tails in Chibaku tensei)

There someone using his head. Jiraiya took down three Pain bodies without knowing any of Pain's techniques and Pain/Negato knew some of Jiraiya's because he trained him. Jirayia was truly a great ninja.

The question should be how many people will it take to beat Pain or how many bodies can each character defeat against Pain.

These Pain threads are getting so annoying, it is averaging two threads a month.

last time i checked Nagato was not beaten by Naruto he killed himself to bring back every one in the leaf that he killed. did you still not see the pic's that show naruto pinned down he could have just hit naruto with the higher level shinra tensei (you know the one that sent the summons flying) if he hit kyubbi naruto with that level of shinra tensei there is no way he could have defended (sadly pain was not amming to kill) and had he been at full power chibaku tensei would have ended the fight

no Kakashi just broke his arms Zabuza was going to walk away just fine when Gato betrayed him then naruto did his thing and made Zabuza see that he was a jerk he then attacked Gato in a attack that killed him getting sabbed and killed while attacking Gato. Naruto made him see the error of his ways and casued him to kill himself by attacking Gato its the same with Nagato he made Nagato see the error of his ways and Nagato used up all of his chakra to bring back every one he killed.

Naruto destroyed all six Bodies of Pain All by Himself, He then Change the Mind, The Heart of Nagato to His own point of View in the end Nagato believed in Naruto, trusted Naruto to change the world.Naruto believes won defeated Nagato's Believes. That's a Naruto victory.

You are right to some extent. But at that moment, Nagato was almost out of chakra. He didn't have any chakra to use high level techniques like Chibaku Tensei. He barely had the chakra to revive those he killed at the cost of his life. At their meeting, it was only due to Jiraiya's wish that Naruto didn't kill Nagato.

However, if both of them fight fully recharged. The result may be different. It's another story. But this manga is Naruto and not Nagato or Pain.

let's face it, naruto won against a pain who couldnt use his main pain for half of the fight and was two times on the edge of being defeated (three times if you think about what would have happened if pain had evaded the rasengan). he had complete knowledge about pains abilities, was fully prepared and pain was supposed to not kill him. naruto fought good, but pain was a different level.
