Naruto only won because of jiraiya.. otherwise Itachi would have been the closest after naruto but he was sick and didnt have ems so he had to use his abilities wisely and im pretty sure if he defeated the regenerating pain first it would of been over but doubt he would be able to figure out that it was nagato controlling.. i doubt 100% sasuke would be able to kill pain. since his genjutsu is no where near the level of itachi's and thats one of pains great weakness..

I re-read all the Manga Naruto/ Pain fight yesterday and found something new, all thru the fight Pain keep underestimating Naruto and Naruto keep surprising Pain with different varied strategy. Also Pain can clearly be seen was starting to were-down both Physically and Mentally from having to push Himself to the limit. He was so exhausted that when He revive the dead in the village all His chakra reserves were exhausted and it cost Him His life. Naruto wore Him down to the point of no return.

Since Jiraiya did not know that the six bodies were not actually alive or were not the real Pain/Nagato. He didn't want to do anything drastic until he found out information. But if he knew what the secret was, he would have defeated all six bodies and Nagato himself.

After the fight, Pain said "If we did not have this secret, we would not have won."

Not Naruto, not Sasuke not even Madara. The only reason Madara had Negato on lock is because he manipulated him.

Naruto vs Pain there was no way Naruto could lose that fight all the card was stacked against Pain, for example Pain could not kill Naruto.

Now Degrees is not taking anything away from Naruto and believe it or not Naruto is his favourite character but like I said above. Kishi made sure Naruto couldn't lose by giving Pain a lot of disadvantages.

That could have easily been Naruto's skull. Unless the Kyuubi can bring Naruto back to life from an instant death, then I am sure Pain would have won.

Is there anybody that can beat Pain? Yes. Naruto. Just not at that moment in a fair fight with both of them aiming to kill. Naruto will DECIMATE Pain once he can control the Kyuubi.

Could Naruto have won? I'm sure there is a way. But it would be a deux-ex-machina, where some miracle happens to save the main character (a literal miracle. Not just what we deem a miracle).

All you guys saying Madara can't win, well I'm glad you all have precognitive abilities and know what he can do in a fight, because to us mere mortals, we aren't quite sure what he can do in a battle.

Why do you thing His best friend was so concern about Him having to push Himself more than He did against Jiraiya or anybody else. Naruto push Nagato the same way He push Orochimaru into using up His chakra reserves to the point that it gave Sasuke the opening He needed against Orochimaru. Go over the manga look at Nagato, He was bleeding in that set up from the tremendous energy He had to call up just to get at Naruto.

LOL... I agree. Pain was a such a quality character. He was a decendant of the SO6P, the greatest ever. At that particular point in the manga pain was easily the strongest but I think that when/if Naruto gains complete control of the kyuubi, sage mode and nature chakra and possibly learns a few more jutsu then maybe he could be considered on that same level.

The way Pain was killed off was sort of an injustice really.. A bit of a soft ending to someone so cool and well made.

Jiraiya went into battle with out info and died Did you not see the image that that dude showed you with pain pinning him down he use half his chakra to destroy the leaf and He could have beat Kyubi naruto (if he had more chakra he could have trapped the 9 tails in Chibaku tensei)

also Pain said that Jiraiya might have beaten him MIGHT not would Might

Note that pain went through a whole VILLAGE, A WHOLE VILLAGE. and naruto turns up with a cheap shot.
aswell pain waqsnt aiming to kill, he was aiming to capture, if pain wasnt willing to capture him but kill him the first thing pain would've have done would be to Release that Giant Statue that will kill anybody upon contact.

BUT. pain lost because he fought a whole village and defeated the village and couldve defeated naruto but yet he decided to revive all the dead people. U_U
