Well in anime using a special name to an island does equalize the nature of that island. You're contradicting yourself when you say you need written proof for onoki knowing the island's features but doesnt agree with muu and akatsuchi's statement. So if statements are worthless to you, why show an exception? In fact every island or country or village named after something does have its features similar to the naming. For example, hidan's village of hot springs or yukigakure, if my memory is correct, is a tourist destination for its famed hot springs. Iwagakure is completely made of stone. Mist village is obscured by mist. Hidden cloud village has blinding clouds all over the village. So yes my context and argument is valid. Onoki not knowing a island's features despite a low level shinobi knowing it is ridiculous and do not make sense. When someobe sends you to protect something else, would he give you details of the place you're going or say 'surprise'? You should use common sense for this part. This is fiction, so the powers of other individuals are witnessed by certain individuals so they cant possibly be lying.

Also, jinton has a pretty slow start up time(which makes sense considering it’s destructive capability) ohnoki probably wouldn’tve been able

What if jinton strikes PS legs? What will he do? He will simply reform it again and again uselessly, and destroy does mean "completely eradicate". Think about that scenario instead of simply saying "madara is in a different league blah blah blah"

Technically ohnoki can one shot hashirama if hashirama doesn't play it smart, which he won't in character but will do in vs section. Clones take care of jinton and ohnoki dies afterwards. But in character, ohnoki can simply use beam jinton targeted at hashirama and hashirama alongwith everything in his arsenal gets vaporized. But that is not how fight will go in manga.
