Obito was not scared of Itachi

In no way was Obito scared of Itachi and here's the biggest reason.

Obito had akatsuki under his control and if he so chose, he could have commanded them to eliminate Itachi for him if he posed a threat. And there's no way Itachi could solo Akatsuki.

Obito stated that Sasuke's power will surpass Itachi's....so why would he risk giving Sasuke the EMS if he is already afraid of Itachi? Not to mention he already threatened to kill Sasuke if he doesn't obey which means he's unphased by their power.

They made a pact when they first met. Why would Obito be afraid of Itachi if they just only met and knew nothing of his powers? He could have just attacked him and tried to end his life, but he didn't. He just came to honor his agreement in exchange for help get revenge against the Uchiha.

He still had the powers of mokuton and the sharingan. Even as a kid, he did more damage than most characters and experienced more terror.

Obito could still control the Gedo with just the sharingan and Hashi cells. He knew the kinjutsu of the Uchiha along with other techs which Itachi had no knowledge of.

Obito fought Minato when Obito was still a kid.....meaning he's pretty fearless to do such a thing, especially so young. And if he's not scared of Minato, then he's not scared of Itachi either.

He already met the most terrifying force in the Naruto, Madara Uchiha, so why would he be afraid of someone like Itachi?

1. Excluding Tobi and pain, I think it's possible for itachi to beat the akatsuki.This isn't my main point so if you address anything in my argument don't let this be the only thing. Itachi has the Yata Mirror, so he is pretty much impervious to all attacks. Couple that with his ability to instantly morph into crows and he is practically untouchable. He can catch any of them in genjutsu, and even if he slightly staggers one persons movement, he can instantly finish them with totsuka blade. It becomes even easier to hit them with his ability to tell what they will do and to slightly influence what they would do, everyone becomes easy targets. Itachi's speed is incredible and he outpaces all of the other members. He also has Pheonix Sage fire technique, which was difficult for Kakashi, using the sharingan, to be able to dodge. It will be more than a hassle for the akatsuki members to handle, not to mention he can use it on more than one of them at a time. Ultimately, however, Itachi can really defeat them by predicting their movements and catching them off guard with genjutsu and sharingan, and then simply sealing them away with even a nick, prick, or graze of the totsuka blade. That's just my outlining of Itachi's abilities. I won't go into the full fight because it'd take too long but maybe in private at a later date.

2. When obito said that sasuke's eyes would surpass Itachi's, I am pretty sure that he meant that Sasuke would get EMS. What way would Obito know just how strong Sasuke's eyes would be in the future? There is no way that he could know how sasuke's eyes would progress naturally. However if Obito already planned to give Sasuke the EMS, he knows that Itachi did not have it and that sasuke will. I believe that would qualify as Sasuke's eyes surpassing Itachi's.

3. Controlling the Gedo means nothing for Itachi. The Gedo is a giant target which can be sealed with Totsuka blade with ease.

So... I really didn't talk about the main point in this thread because I couldn't give a crap whether Obito was afraid of Itachi or not. I can say almost certainly that no one who is not helped by Kakashi can kill him. What I can and a willing and have talked about are the validity of some of your contentions.

3 Your right Obito wasn't scared of Itachi. HOWEVER he wouldnt dare cross itachi because he would have died if he had. If you want an explanation of why Obito is no match for Itachi there are probably fifty threads about it. (I'm talking about non-rinnegan Obito of course)

The best proof for my third point is the fact that he waited to attack the leaf until Itachi was dead.

BTW I think Itachi slightly feared Tobi solely because he though Tobi was Madara

while you might be right, you have to remember that nagato only had the rinnengan. obito had the MS/EMS, the rinnengan and hashiramas cells. and i dont know if this is a factor but the gedo had 7 tailed beasts in it. another thing is im not saying this is totally correct. to me the mysteries of the eyes and uchiha arent fully solved. itachi was very smart and could calculate things quicker then most people. also itachi had created one huge lie to sasuke so im not sure he was being truthful about what he said. and another thing, the akatsuki are like mercenaries. im not sure tobi could get all to turn against itachi. im for sure kisame would stand by his side and im also not sure pain would follow. if it was itachi and kisame against akatsuki they would probably lose but they would take a lot of the others with them. and if pain joined that means konan would join and the other wouldnt stand a chance.

He nvr feared him because he has no reason to, hitachi joined him to not only protect konoha but to st get sauke to max his power, obito knows itachi was going to die at his brothers hands @ some point he waited for itachi to die to pit real plan in action

I also nvr understood y no one makes the connection tht all the uchiha make the same moves as far as alliances

Obito went to madara for revenge on kakashi and konoha and kills mentor

Sasuke goes to oro to take revenge on itachi

If Obito didnt attack konoha because of itachi then why didnt he attack the village before he recruited itachi? That wanst part of his plan, he wanted to use itachi a a pawn. Itachi wouldve gotten stomped because he knew nothing about obito while obito knew everything about him, and even mentored him/taught him uchiha kinjutsu etc. Theres no info stating itachi knew about kamui in fact theres implications that itachi had no idea how obito could slip through objects
