Tbh idgaf about the relationship, but I hate the fact that anyone who disagrees with the relationship is automatically called a homophobe. I swear these days you have to defend being straight and what not.

But really its not really lesbian though. Most females relationship are portrayed with lesbian context because females tend to share more of an intimate bond. But Korra and Asami are border line Willow x Tara. But they always had a Buffy and Faith thing going on.

I guarantee you, the kids don't understand most of those underlying (and some less so) themes. THOSE are for older TLA fans. I don't know who the completely undeveloped gay pairing was for. Well really I do know, but those people seem to be the only one supporting the half-assed attempt.

A nice friendly relationship, nothing set in stone, but it's heavily implied.
And it's big that they portrayed them so intimate with each other, because such is considered taboo, unless used as comic relief

Thing is the comics verse is not always about social agendas out of blue but fantasies. Many people want a warning before starting reading that genre. I have suddenly gotten more respect for Japanese publications clearly dividing and labeling the genres according to type of content.
It's getting better reception because it has a more common male fantasy element girl on girl along with "good press" according to some press release. So they cater to a fan service and get to mark it as social service by making homosexuality acceptable. Not bad for them.
How you are handling your kids is your personal choice. But it's not really about acceptance of such relationships for everyone. Fewer would read Korra if Ang went with a male friend even if they have nothing against such relationships in normal circumstances. The idea of Yaoi throws off much larger groups of readers. It just may not be their cup of tea to read such a fanatsy.

That's you trying to push your reasons on me and assuming people have the same opinion on what they want to read. It doesn't make her more or less cool for me. It just makes me not that interested in her story. I may read an occasion yaoi if it has a compelling plot. Yuri has always been a turn off for me. Why should I pick a comic because of your reasons?
If I wanted cool points I could just hop on the wagon of support LGBT community. I am OK with them. I still don't feel like reading material written for them. You won't find me preaching feminist reasons to reject Sakura either. Does that make you understand my POV better? Not everyone reads these books for the same elements.
Edit: To make it more clear, I'm still on early chapters in this series. It was not captivating me much to begin with to read it at faster rate. And now I feel even more detached with the lead itself.
Are you asking me to support it for some greater good? Then it's another matter- yeah sure no problem. I still don't have to read it myself.

no i'm not either, i'm not pushing anything on anyone , i don't read yuri either because i don't like how its done most of the time. however its not because their the same-*** gender relationship that bothers me , i just don't see how that takes away from a charater, all i'm saying is that they wanted to reach out to this fan base that Never get any repsentation at all and i don't see anything at all wrong with that
