Actually, Madara taught Obito the Uchiha kinjutsu, Izanagi, so you're wrong on that account.

If you use your brain, you might be able to remember, Obito had a collection of sharingan, in his lab. This means, losing eyes was not a problem at all, as he could simply replace it with another eye. He didn't copy anything.
