Noone would put someone strictly powerful as a anbu captain....They have to lead teams of anbu etc......Someone with just pure power and no brain would never be a anbu captain, a example of that is naruto....To be a chuunin you need a certain level of knowledge...to be jounin even more...to be a anbu captain at age 13, while kakashi was 24+ and still not a captain, yea you make a estimate

Naruto saw Shikimaru assemble a team on the fly and come up with a strategy during the rescue sasuke arc.He also saw Shikamaru think up a plan to escape the earth prison when they were trap by the one of the sound ninja four.I think that is more than enough to gauge shikimaru's intelligence.

Itachi used the shurikens as a decoy, created a water clone and swapped place with this clone so that the real itachi is behind kakashi and the water clone is near asuma and kurenai. He then stabbed kakashi who turned out to be a water clone aswell.

Itachi then let his water clone that was near kurenai explode. Itachi already bested him and kakashi acknowledged this by giving them warning of his accomplishment as a kid.

This is an intelligence feat, all be it a combat type

His analytical capacity is also better than Kakashi's from what i observed in the entire show, Kakashi is more like a clon tester, Itachi is better at analyzing, do you really think Kakashi would of noted Chibaku's Tensei weakness?

im sure kakashi would have as he noted how to defeat Pain and pain weakness
the 5 second cool down but lacked the stamnia to fight as long
mind you itachi was EDO meaning his chakra would just regenerate.

Hmm im guessing you didnt read my post also then, i said Itachi perfected Tsukuyomi to the point of controlling the perception of time in it, that is genius, Itachi himself perfected that jutsu to the extreme. My friend, you are a moron who didn't address what I asked.Try reading for a change.I didn't say anything about Itachi not being smart , so bringing up that you need to be smart to be an Anbu captain is completely besides the point.My question was where in that panel did it show Itachi's intelligence being superior to Kakashi.The answer is it didn't and being an Anbu captain isn't an indication of that.You are a clear case of what i have been saying from the beginning;someone who lacks the ability to differentiate power and intelligence so let me explain it to you in a way you might be able to understand.Itachi is intelligence, but Itachi also had power that far exceed many shinobis including Kakashi.When you combine the two, you have a better all around shinobi which is probably the reason Itachi was made Anbu captain.With that said, being an all around better shinobi doesn't mean he's smarter than every other shinobi.Meaning, there could have been shinobis that are as smart or smarter than Itachi in the anbu, but couldn't make captain because their power was weaker than Itachi's.Kakashi could easily be one of those shinobis.

dude when i brought up shikamaru is was bc he is a god tier intelligence wise in narutoverse, so even if itachi wasn't mention there being compared to shikamaru make u smarter than itachi...now are u denying what kakashi said or are u implying that kakashi was lying...and if u wanna play this 'its an opinion not a fact game' i can do that too...characters have called itachi a genius in naruto but u know what its their opinions not a fact, kakashi said itachi could have killed.its he's opinion not a fact, characters said itachi is very intelligent, guess what its their opinion not a fact,,see i can also play that game(i just need to use a little sarcasm and i'll be fine)
