the way kakashi used his sharingan at the battle after transplantation was truly magnificent but itachi has also shown he is good at he is also good by joining the anbu ranks in early age..both are equally smart .remember pain vs kakashi.he was good at making strategies

The only "real" battle we seen with Itachi is when he fought Sasuke and that was a fight he was losing on purpose. Other then that we haven't seen him fight anyone else full throttle. So we can't say how he fights because most of the people he fought and beat through flash backs, he beats them within seconds using genjutsu.

ok so let me get this straight back then it was itachi clone with 30% chakra who can't use his MS and itachi clone succeed in delaying them, and with naruto help kakashi manage to outsmart itachi clone who even don't go for the kill,
and being compare to shikamaru who a lot younger than kakashi whose already experience a war and spend his time with minato namikaze whose also a prodigy,
is not really a good feat for him since unexperienced shikamaru can be compare with the man who a lot older and more experiance than shikamaru, surely by that logic shikamaru in kakashi age will be super duper smarter than kakashi himself

People are overrating Shikimaru's intelligence, he needs to go think about his opponent 1 night before he can counter him. Minato and Itachi counter their opponent right in the battle when it happens.
kakashi too was able to discover the 5 seconds cool down for shinra tensei and was able to formulate a plan to dealt w/ tendo if not for asura. Not to belittle itachi's feat but the first thing six tail did is attack chibaku tensei which is the same thing itachi did, i give you blinding the shared vision and comparing their feats they are close.
