Naruto was nowhere near Jonin level during the Save Gaara Arc.Since leaving the village he had only gain quicker reaction time, one new more powerful rasengan which killed his stamina, and his intelligence was still below average.At that time naruto was no higher than Chunin, and a lesser chunin than Sakura base off his lack of intelligence.

Shikimaru figure out Hidan ability during the battle the first time.Shikimaru only had to think up a strategy to take on Hidan and Kakuza because Kakuza didn't use his abilities during the first battle.

I do think that thus far, Itachi has been one of the smartest, no doubt with future issues we will discover Kabuto's intentions, more about Tobi and will be able to come to our own conclusions. But I must admit I was very impressed with Itachi in the recent manga issues.
It cannot be denied that they are both very intelligent though. 1000 jutsu' is no mean feat! haha!

wtf are u talking about ? itachi did had poor intel from naruto whose panicking that he was about to get trapped inside CT and itachi told him to calm down and then he make the plan, but before that healready disabled nagato sahred view by throwing kunai to his summon, and that's make thing easier for him to pierce nagato without being notice by nagato shared view,
it looks like u misinterpret what am saying, idk why u always belittle itachi credit in this match, without itachi both bee and naruto is DEAD

umm.... well... itachi never lost his calm.... and i have seen kakashi losing his calm many time.. but then again this is because itachi is powerful than kakashi and could defeat others and need not to loose his calm...
Tobi in the manga says 1 time that he would help him, not that he actually did and he says 2 times that ITACHI killed the uchiha's.
Tobi was there to collect eyes and agreed to not attack konoha in exchange for getting his revenge on the uchiha.
It has already been confirmed that Tobi is Madara Uchiha. My own thoughts about how it is possible:If Tobi is Madara who is the Dead Edo Guy fighting the Kages
Tobi = Madara Uchiha's soul/spirit/mind controlling Obito's body as host. Right before Madara Was defeated he obtained the Rinnegan and did some kind of soul/spirit/mind split jutsu and eventually he found a body of an Uchiha he could posses, Obito.
Tobi is also a semi-anagram for Obito: Obi To: To obi: Tobi
When ever I say Tobi Madara Uchiha I do it to make clear that Tobi is Madara Uchiha. If I want to talk about the other madara I will say Edo Madara Uchiha.
