Nope. His character always was about revenge, "I" Itachi and destruction and you know it.
He doesn't wanted know truth about anything before his meeting with edo Itachi

Sasuke has always been by far the best character in this manga. Even people that pretend to dislike Sasuke know that he brings the most excitement to this manga.

Nagato complicated? LMAO. He was a worthless pawn that got tnjed in a few minutes.
Whenever Sasuke comes into play in the manga, shit gets crazy. Sasuke brings the butthurt and the page views.
And how is Sasuke any different, he gets TNJ more then any other character in the manga and spends half of it doing things based off of false information.
He spent half his childhood planning his revenge on Itachi, and not only did Itachi plan the whole thing out but his entire revenge was based off of a lie.
Then he gets manipulated by Obito, to turn around and betray the Hidden Leaf.
Then when he has a chance to destroy the leaf he turns right around after ANOTHER TNJ session with Hashirama, only for him to plan to betray Naruto with his little revolution that ended up accomplishing absolutely nothing.
And he finally gets TNJ by Naruto into a good guy again.
Edit: Nagato never changed his goal, his goal was always peace, the only thing that changed was how he went about achieving that goal.
Sasuke changes his goal at the drop of a hat.

When it comes to our character Sasuke Uchiha, there's much to go about it. Endless progression throughout the story. Constant changes from point A to point B, whether it be to help the side of good or the side of bad. Goal pursuing and dark ambition to achieve what truly matters to him on an emotional level. From dedicating his whole life to seeking vengeance on his brother to deciding to protect his brothers wishes and the same village that Itachi wanted to protect.
This pure hearted child might be selfish to some but he is just like any guy who hates to see those he loves see destroyed in the blink of an eye.
From growing up as a child being in the shadows of his older brother, he realized that his brother was his only inspiration. His brother soon betrayed his trust and began to become even more distant to Sasuke. Going through that horrible night of witnessing his families demise and living the rest of his life in despair and solitude. Soon to come back again years after and show Sasuke that same horrific night in a tremendous nightmarish Genjutsu.
Sasuke leaving the village to set out to get stronger because he noticed the inferiority in his power level. Seeking guidance from Orochimaru and coming back stronger than ever and being able to fight on par with S classed enemies. Finding out that his brother was just being manipulated by the same village that he used to live in and that Itachi always thought about him first, even above his own life. Deciding to kill the same leaders that put his own brother up to his clans destruction. Succeeding in killing Danzo, a man who was hated by most ninja and was a crafty old geezer bent on his own twisted plot of being in charge.
Gaining even greater strength with promoting his Sharingan even beyond the regular basis of a normal Sharingan and deciding to bring back the previous world leaders to help make his decision. He then decides to protect the village and help the SA against a war aimed at the world. Helping Naruto aidi in Obito, Madara and Kaguya's defeat and deciding on new quick change in plan just to hype the current plot.
When it comes to Sasuke, he is one to make the story even further. He is one to bring excitement to the series. He causes trouble for the main character to handle and he raises tension for the ninja world. He is one to change goals just like any other interesting character and not just stick to one goal like a boring tree. Sasuke is one, if not, the best developed character in the series. The only other characters that fall in the same tier are those like Gaara, Sasori, and Itachi.

Regarding Obito, Obito is not interesting in the slightest. Those who consider his actions to be logical are truly delusional faptards who can't see the end of the forest. He wasted most of Shippuden pretending to be someone else that he is not when in fact the original(Madara) will always be better than him, while Obito will just be some second rate little b!tch with girl issues. His so called plan to ignite IT was all negated because Madara was the one to cast it. Not Obito.
Anyway, Obito is just a darker version of Naruto with same similarities of wanting to become Hokage and having a crush on a girl, but Naruto never tried to destroy the world over a girl, but if someone considers Naruto to be an interesting person then so be it.

While i agree sasuke is pretty high up there with the best written characters, in regards of which one is the best that depends on the taste of people, sasuke is 1 of the 2 most mainstream characters in the manga the other one being naruto, and of course sasuke is way more complex than naruto so therefore he´s better written, so therefore if you ask people who is the best written character out of all characters sasuke being mainstream is gonna come out there.
As i said i do i gree he´s one of the most best written characters, but remember for this manga to work we needed a lot of others characters too, naruto manga couldn´t have held its own if we only had naruto and sasuke telling the whole story, there are other good characters who get overlook just because they dont have a lot of panel time but nevertheless are great, for example we have shikamaru, who at the beginning was a lazy douch who though everything was a drag, but as soon as the shounin exams started he changed from a lazy ass to a guy willing to give his life for a friend then he became the first shounin leader out of k11 then when asuma died he comprehended he had to look after the future generation, his character development is good nevertheless he didnt get a lot f panel time, you also forget about kabuto who didnt have a memory of his childhood and didnt know who he was and then he though he knew who he was danzo made him quit all that and then he became a nobody once more then allied with oro and he kinda found who he was until oro died and then he changed once more in the power hungry being he was in the war then to realise all of his mistakes, danzo also was a pretty good character who was willing to sacrifice anythingfor the greater good and was always the underdog of hiruzen. Kakashi also had a hard life, his motther died when he was a child then a few years later his father commited suicide, then his best friend died then rin died then minato and kushina died , the guy couldnt catch a break nevertheless he overcame all of that at the end, the same goes for obito, he was born without anything an orphan like naruto then he found a family in rin, then his family(e.g. rin) gets killed before his eyes by the hands of the guy whom he almost died saving and gave his left eye too, dont you think that´s crappy, also obito wearing a mask means he was hiding his true feelings, he had a great development like many others.
What happens here is that people like powerful characters and definetely sasuke and his rinnegan make the cut with power regards besides he has a great developmet and top of that he´s one of the few characters with great development who didnt get killed before th finale, so it´s almost obvios he was gonna get most of votes, but dont get delisional , sasuke alone couldnt have made naruto manga interesting enough to keep people coming every week for 15 years and that´s why we have other great characters like kakashi, garaa, kabuto, obito, shikamaru , nagato and many others, sasuke alone couldnt have made naruto manga what it is today neither any of the other characters i mentioned above.
What I found repulsive of Sasuke is how much of a fan Kishimoto is of him. That's a red-flag right there and is the source of the series' deterioration. The most illogical and irrational aspects were shoved down our throats when Sasuke is concerned and managed to destroy Naruto's character as well while doing it. Kishi never fails to mention how attractive and cool Sasuke is so much so that I wonder how many of us would believe good-looking and coolness to be the definitive aspects of his character. Just look at how Kishi focuses on his character design and everyone else, it's obvious he spends more time thinking about it than any other character's. And, the term 'genius' was tailored to him like it was a given. Almost none of his flaws were exploited, everything about him was his obsession with revenge.
Just to keep Sasuke's reputation upfloat, he ruined every female character in his age group (except Hinata). His attractiveness was so overwhelming that every female gave up logic. Sakura's redemption was clearly non-existent because Sasuke is too big a prize and Kishi's like 'Everyone knows that!'
Looking at it now, Kishi ruined Sasuke's character too in the end. I think it's safe to say he's not a well-written character at all.
