Or maybe they just don't like female characters that revolve around being with a man and offer nothing else to their personality besides there obsession with said man.

Also Hinataxnaruto is horse shit as is all the romance in this series. Its written terribly the writer tries to pass hinatas admiration as deep emotional love when the two barley have ever said a word to each other. They don't have a deep emotional bond. And Naruto gets magical feelings of love that come out of nowhere so he can be with her. He even tries to retcon the series by saying Naruto pretended to like Sakura. Which means he lied to himself which makes him also a hypocrites as he stated he hates people that do that. I dont know why he did that it doesn't make the romance any less terribly written.

That's because Kishi didn't want Naruto and Hinata dating while they were under 18. Which is rather pathetic considering he allows murder and attempted sexually assault of characters those ages or younger.
