I'd have an IT version of them, and they'd have an IT version of me, probably a better me anyway.
but that IT version of you wouldn't be you, nor would that IT version of them be them. Those IT version of them would simply be something that looked like them (not even perfectly unless you had full knowledge on how that person looked), yet ultimately would be completely controlled by your own will. So would every other 'person' in your MT world.
Plus, what does the bolded mean anyway? Who's better at you than being you? If there's a MT version of me, except i'm 1 inch taller or I like raisins instead of apples, then that's not really me. Not only that, but even if you wanted to, you would never be able to replicate someone in MT, as all you have to base your knowledge of a person is off of the finite encounters you've had with that person. You don't truly know how it feels to be them, what exactly goes through their mind when something happens, or answers to questions you've never asked them.
So I fail to see how you or your family would be in 'paradise' when each and every one of you are eternally in your own separate worlds interacting with images of your loved ones who aren't really your loved ones, who are ultimately completely controlled by you.
Tell me. Would rather go blind or be in IT?
obviously I'd rather be blind.
I may not be able to see the external world if i'm blind, but i'll at least be able to interact with it, my loved ones, family friends, other senient life forms, and know it's all real rather than be isolated from everyone and everything that could possibly be of any intrinsic value other than myself for all eternity.
