How strong is Shisui actually?

Well, in a thread I have seen someone claiming that Shisui can beat Hashirama because he has the most powerful genjutsu and can cast it without eye contact..etc.

if shisui could not even defeat Danzo whom Sasuke defeated how can he beat the greates shinobi that ever lived after the SO6P. This is really absurd. i believe his greatest technique was his eye technique that is why every one wanted his eye. nothing great about him.

This is why I don't understand how people can underrate Danzo. He had KA able to use it 1-2 times a day and 11 minutes Izanagi. Arguably the 2 best genjutsu's in the whole show. Couple them together and it spells danger for the opponent. Danzo's Juinjutsu would also be troublesome for many people (Not many people are able to release a burst of chakra equal to a Susanoo). Then he has decent wind techs and summoning.
