Well, it's not necessarily about who can fight Kurama the best. He could fight on par with near any shinobi, including the 6 Paths of Pain. Anything beyond that, even Hashirama couldn't fight, so its damn near a draw. Since I do believe that Hiruzen had 4-5 elements, and likely had a 5 in every databook stat is gives him a huge advantage against shinobi that aren't Jinchuuriki. I say Hiruzen

Yet Orochimaru bested him & Enma. Hashirama controlled the 9-tails without a staff. He also controlled other beasts. How you might say? Mokuton. Hiruzen can't heal. Hashirama can. Hashirama's Taijutsu's superior to many. Hiruzen's tai-jutsu's never been mentioned.

Oro defeated a 1000 year old Hiruzen, during prime time Hiruzen will make Snake Belt out of Oro.

Hiruzen was defeated with a just and valid reason. Hashirama on the other hand died in a battle mysteriosly. His EDO form, clearly indicates that Hashirama died young.

Hiruzen is considered to be as "The Professor" mainly because of this knowledge of jutsu.. a library of jutsu, good and forbidden jutsu mix up all together!! ... If not because of Hiruzen's library of Jutsu, naruto will ever learn the Kage Bunshin!

If Prime Hashirama and Prime Hiruzen will fight to the very end, Hiruzen will have the advantage. Hiruzen knows the full extent of Hashirama's power. Hiruzen will exploit every bit of Hashirama's weaknesses to his advantage. Unfornately, Hashirama has no idea of how poweful Hiruzen had become.

In my opinion and according to what is said in the manga, Hiruzen was the strongest Hokage which means that he was stronger than the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and obviously the 5th. Hiruzen was Hokage for the longest time while all the others were killed while they were still young, that in itself says a lot. Also, Hiruzen faught through 3 Ninja wars and survived, that is a testament of his strength. People get all crazy about the wood style and the hype that Madara has given the 1st. Hiruzen was taught by the first, so he obviously knew all the first weaknesses. Saying that Hashiramais stonger that Hiruzen is like saying that Kakashi is stronger than current Naruto.

Naruto series don't count because Kishi didn't have all of them fully developed...plus Third hokage didn't stand a chance against Kyuubi but Hashirima did

Naruto's mom placed a barrier over the area so he couldnt get in, but when he did have a chance he did push the nine-tails out of the village with his staff.



He was fighting hashirama, tobimara, and orochimaru. and hashirama i think was the second strongest (and he was still in his prime) hiruzen was old fighting young 3 young people in there prime and HE STILL WON.. that shows that he was extremely powerful when he was young.. If he was in him prime he probally curb stomp hashirama seeing how he still beat him as a old guy.

Hashirama died mysteriously because at his time theres nothing that can kill him. He's able to control the Bijuu's Primarily Kurama, Man handle Madara, Defeat Kakazu--5 hearts, nothing can stop him. We've only seen Hiruzen fight once.. Against orochimaru... and got killed.... Although we haven't actually seen Hashirama fight, the people who he's defeated admitted to defeat to him.

Orochimaru's summons, yes edo's are SUMMMONS meaning if he summoned something say like an Edo and it kills Hiruzen then Then really Orochimaru got the kill. Orochimaru got Hiruzen to committ suicide-- Raw Power <3

hiruzen could have beaten madara, b/c all he had was EMS (no rinnegan, or wood release). and he only used one tailed beast so we dont know cause we've never seen hiruzen fight a tailed beast.. but he did push karuma out of village..

Madara only needs EMS. Sasuke has EMS and could easily take on 2-3 of the kages at a time. Madara didnt use one-tailed beast, he use the NINE-TAAILED BEAST The one's power that matches up with 5 bijuu's Tailed beastbomb. And He pushed Kurama out of the village...... LAWL so? Kurama's tailed-beast bomb the village and its over. Including Hiruzen. :flaw:

Hashirama doesn't need a nickname, his name itself is legendary, They still talk about him in the manga. Where's this God of Shinobi? Dead. Even sealed Hashirama still affects everyone in Naruto. He's God of God.

Get me a link please of The MANGA itself saying he's the strongest Hokage. If u say Iruki said it im gonna laugh to death because Naruto saved Iruki's life before he was even a genin. It's true that Hiruzen survived for quite sometime, but if he survived for that long -- seemingly what i think ur trying to get at, is that he survived and fought battles, assassinations, etc., BUT... why couldn't he defeat Orochimaru than? I mean he survived 3 Great shinobi Wars Right? Which is more harsh fighting thousands of men than ONE dude. We get a glimpse of what Hashirama did to Madara when they fought, as EDO Madara is doing. He manhandled them like how Madara is doing to the kages.

First of all, we are comparing Hiruzen and Hashirama .. nothing more and nothing less. Your logic is relatively dull, if you keep believing in your half baked theories that Hashirama is more powerful because he can control bijuus or even took out Madara single handedly.

The same thing applies with a "Tank", it's a powerful weapon, but not an effective weapon to kill a fly. Fundamentals will tell you that everything has a advantage and disadvantage. Hashirama can control the Bijuu, but this doesn't mean that his invincible.

Yet again, the proof of Hiruzen's vast knowledge of Jutsu is his library. Hiruzen is noted to have known 1000 jutsu, if not, all Konoha's jutsu including the forbidden ones. Hiruzen was able to diffuse the EDO summoning of the 4th Hokage..meaning he knew about the technique.

Knowing and even materering 1000 jutsu is a testament of how good and powerful a shinobi had become. Hiruzen isn't a fool, he for sure had mastered a healing jutsu obviously.

When Hiruzen came into power as Hokage, no one dared to attack Konoha. Considering there were 2 shinobi world wars during his reign. Even Danzo and his ANBU root obeyed the 3rd Hokage without a single question.

We didn't say that hashirama was invincible bec of the bijuu and the bijuu was too much for hiruzen too handle alone.

It doesn't matter that he knows a ton of jutsu but do you think that he can use that all at hashirama? Probably all hokages after the invention of edo tensei knows how to disable it.

you cannot say orochimaru defeated hiruzen because he didnt, he planned that attack on konoha for ages, made pacts with the sand to betray the leaf during chuunin exams, he probably looked for the dead bodies of shodaime, nidaime and yondaime for 10 years, and in the end he couldnt even kill a 90 year old hokage or do more than put a scratch on the hidden leaf. instead your god shodaime, and his brother were sealed away permanently by a 90 year old man, not to mention orochimaru lost all his jutsu due to losing his arms, and eventually he became extrememly weak and ended up getting taken out by sasuke until he too got sealed away permanently by the totsuka.
so if your saying that orochimaru won because he made sandaime sacrifice his life(he couldnt even kill him fair and square even with 2 hokage on his side lol), you seriously need to rethink your broken logic and eat some health food for your brain oro fanboy. laugh out loud

Hashirama has mokuton, has healing techniques more advanced than Tsunade, and had control of tailed beasts.

Now please tell me how Hiruzen would win against that? From what we have seen, he would not win. Until the manga shows more of Hiruzen, I have to say Hashirama is stronger. I would be glad to change my opinion once they show more of Hiruzen.
