I agree that the reign of the Third was best in Konoha's History. THat being said, I cant give all that credit to Hiruzen. Danzou also played a big part for that era. I believe it was the combination of Danzou and HIruzen that was the key to sucess. Hiruzen was the likeable figure head and deplomatic qhile Danzou was the cold, what-needs-to-be done sort of guy. They both in a way ran the village together better than any one Hokage has.

Although Hiruzen Sarutobi did afford the leaf to have the title of the strongest Kage of that generation.

Hiruzen was the wisest of all the Hokage. Danzo was Hiruzens best friend so he didn't want to kill him plus he knew Danzo intnetions were in the villages best interest. Danzo has already admitted inferiorty to Hiruzen, he said his whole life he could never catch up to him. Its a Goku and Vegeta situation actually.

Hiruzen at age 70 was strongest Kage in the world, noted by Kabuto who has spent his whole life in all 5 great ninja countries. That means he was still stronger than Ay, Mei, Onoki, and Gaara daddy.

He knew about the Akatsuki even before Itachi did.

He was hokager for ever 50 years.

Uh Hiruzen was 68 when he died. I guess he was Hokage at 18

You are correct in one aspect, he was the most tolerant leader, which could be construed as the "Best". However, you misunderstand the circumstances on multiple points.

He had no reason to have a bias against the Uchiha, which was essentially 1/2 the village when the Senju/Uchiha made it, so the 1st and 2nd were biased against half the village, thus they weren't seen as such great leaders in the cooperation aspect.

In terms of Raw power and influence, Hashirama and Tobirama were much better. They demanded the respect and cooperation of other villages, and even gave away their power to equalize the villages, which was a good thought, but may and most likely did, lead to the future wars after they were gone/what killed Tobirama.

Sarutobi just took over the massive project that was already ahead of the other villages. Tobirama and hashirama did that. Hashirama built the village itself and tobirama made the laws and infrastructure hell all the other villages followed their example and they had to pay for the Tailed beast since the leaf had most of them so they were a superpower b4 sarutobi took over.

1. Something was going to Happen to the Uchiha regardless, sprouted from Tobirama's reign and Kyuubi attack.
2. Nope, you can thank Madara, Obito, Hanzo, and Danzo for that
3. He didn't start the war, he protected his people AND he had the longest time of piece
4. That was Orochimaru, once he learned he went to confront him

8. He was dead before Sasuke left, and Sasuke CHOSE to leave.
