You can't say that. There could of been other ways for it to happen. Could there of been other ways for the Kuuybi to be sealed up? NO.

Therefore Minato is the main hero, not Hinata.

Hinata was support.

And nobody else came did they?
I'm done with this now. Your obviously never going admit that Hinata saved him.

Hinata didn't save Naruto, she tried to and unwillingly and unknowingly ignited a chain of events that allowed Naruto to break free. But without Minato's interference Naruto would've ended right there, consumed by the red chakra.

@Nathoman:

No, she didn't know Naruto was the nine-tails host. Remember that Neji, Gaara, Sasuke and Sakura all show surprise when Naruto manifests Kurama's power. It his explicitly stated that Hiruzen Sarutobi decreed that children same age of Naruto are kept in oblivion about him being the Nine-Tails host, so that he would not suffer the same discrimination he suffered from the adults. Hinata was told to avoid Naruto but wasn't told why, like many others of her age.

Hinata had no idea that he wasn't going to be killed and she also had no idea of what would have escalated afterwards. All she did is trying to die along the man she loved because the situation seemed hopeless. She decided to die to lend even the smallest help possible.

Also, let's compare how Sakura acted on another occasion that is loosely similar: Naruto VS Orochimaru. Did Sakura stop and think "Hey, let's think of a plan, because I obviously lack the streght to stop Naruto in this state by myself or interfere with Orochimaru"? No, she didn't, and we can confidently say that Sakura is portrayed as quite smarter than Hinata, but yet she didn't stop and think of a plan at all, she rushed to the side of her beloved friend without thinking of the consequences, which is a quite natural thing to do. It takes a superhuman cool-headedness to stop and think in such a situation of which course of action is best to take, your istinct and mind tells you to just go to the one you love and help in whatever way it comes to mind. Most characters in fact lack that cool-headedness, Itachi, Shikamaru, Minato, Kakashi and possibly a few others are the only ones who are very likely to stop and evaluate the situation coolly.

I frankly understand how a weak, submissive and unconfident character like Hinata can be annoying to some. Heck, some girls I know even find Hinata offensive to women. But saying that you dislike how she acted in that specific occasion because she wasn't smart enough, is just bias. Sorry man, no offense meant, but you're biased.

About her being liked a lot (someone defined her as "perfect"); i concluded into this reasoning; she represents a woman who does everything for her men, relies on him, lives and even dies for him. Now; maybe that sounds "positive" to you, but the situation is not that perfect. A person should be his/her own stance no matter what; Hinata's everything; i mean everything revolves around Naruto; he is the one and only person who she would do everyting for. It is actually kind of degrading; because as i told before; a person should learn to live on his/her two feet first.

About Naruto being her idol; not just a crush, people like Lee, Gaara, Naruto have also people who they think highly of and admire; but that does not preventing them from having a stance on their own and think about others too; she said she wanted to be stronger for him, but evrything goes back to Naruto again.

She somewhat found attractive by some; i am not getting into bewbs part; but she looks and acts like a submissive shy fantasy girl who some find attractive; which is a concept might be thought as very well degrading to women who actually has other stuff to think or do in their life apart from only single person. (She started to think about how it felt to holding Naruto's hand after 3 minutes of her cousın's death; that was low.)

There is a debate going on about Hinata's act as jumping in front of Pain; "the chain of events"(kyuubi rampage-Minato's plan) caused Naruto's and village's save. She already said that she was no match for Pain, so she must new that she would be taken down, and after her death Naruto would have no chance to live. So in that point of view, Naruto would be dead in both scenerios; so how come she would be able to save him? She also left a Hyuuga clansman who was ordered to wait by her side; God knows what would clan do to the poor guy, he would not deserve whatever that would happen to him; she only cares about and lives for Naruto, nothing in her "way" matters to her, and that is unhealthy; whether the reasoning is good or not.

That's my opinion, sorry for the wall of text.

Minato saved him. Without him the Kuuybi would of released completely. Stop denying it. Minato clearly played a more important role.

I don't care if you disrespect my opinion, that's fine. But does that give you the right to bash and insult me? No, learn the difference please. It's not like I'm being that unreasonable, people get mad when they hear their precious little Hinata get criticized... :|

Please understand the difference between opinion and character.

So basically she had no faith that Naruto would survive so she wanted to die with him..that's pretty silly IMO.

Why are you telling me what you think? I believe we've already established that to be 'silly' and 'pointless.'

Like I said - you don't really understand Hinata's character. If she didn't do something - Naruto was dead. She'd rather die trying to defend him than to live having only stood by. She'd seen how the village treated him as a child. Now that he needed help - needed friends... they were all standing by; and she couldn't allow herself to be one of them.

It's more appropriate to say that she would have died - regardless.

We've seen Naruto constantly get saved by the Kuuybi in dire situations. This isn't any different.

It's completely different.

This wasn't "The Kyuubi saving Naruto" - this wasn't Naruto simply 'angry.' This was Naruto faced with a completely different level of challenge. One of his friends was 'killed' in front of him. It was no longer "I'm going to become Hokage" or "I will never give up" or "bring Sasuke back!"

He was lost. He was helpless to stop a force that would certainly destroy everything he loved and cared about. He'd thrown everything he had at the enemy - and it still wasn't enough, and Hinata 'died' because he couldn't defeat Pain.

He wasn't 'releasing' the Kyuubi. He was giving himself over to it.

It's a night and day difference between him merely accepting its power.

I don't like what she did.

I already know your opinion. I have a very sharp memory. I do not need to be reminded.

Get use to it You NaruSaku lovers the facts are the Manga it self is moving toward a NaruHinata conlusion. Manga Fact Sakura LOVES Sasuke to the death. She Keeps Thinking of Sasuke only,She will help others but Sasuke is Her Hearth desire. The same way for Naruto and Hinata. Now Sasuke and Sakura may end in tragedy, but Naruto and Hinata is a love story in progress.

This thread is not about pairings; it is about characteristics of a certain character; view characters as their own; not as pairing b*thes. The fact that someone dragged the thread in a pairing thread about Naruhina proves that Hinata has no stance as character on her own.

Minato can't really seal up a Kyuubi that has been extracted, now can he?

Can't you think two steps ahead of what you're saying?

They both saved him, how many times do I have to say that? And I'm trying to end this ridiculous argument but you keep coming back. You could just say that your not going to listen to reason and walk away. So I guess I'll be the bigger man and say It was nice talking to you. Have a good day man.

It doesn't at all. People do nothing but bet on who's going to end in naruto's bed between Hinata and Sakura like their character would disappear like a fart in the wind if they didn't. Also, people assume that there can be only one important female character (obvious, since important female character = character who sleeps or will sleep with the hero) and therefore put the two in competition whereas there is no competition at all between the two.

It's the readers being sexists, not the characters.

Hinata can't stop a Kuuybi that has been fully released, can she?

Two can play that game.

You disagreed with me and told me to get a brain... That's pretty immature and shows signs of butthurt. Not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you and look at the situation the same as you as well; you should learn that.

Even if you did think I was being stupid. Why would you insult me? Does that make you feel better or something?

U disagreed with someone with a faulty and incomplete analysis and asked him use logic implying that he does not have the capacity to use logic which in turn may mean that he has lower than average IQ ..... is that not an insult? Not to mention that wile using 'logic' u missed out a quite a few points which I reminded u of ..... also neg repping people for disagreeing is much more immature and signs of butthurt.

Also neg repping or asking some one to use logic (thereby implying his incapability to use it= illogical= a comparable insult to asking someone to use their brain) me made u feel better or something? ......... No matter what your pretending if u look yourself in the mirror you are uglier than ur trying to paint me to be.

I agree with the most part; i find it annoying that certain readers are viewing female characters as pairing fodders who has not more aims than ending up with the main hero or not. (But i find her portrayal of characteristics as degrading to women; and i have my certain reasonings.)

Her character seems to resonate with quite a few people. It's not just amv's...

Popularity polls, video discussions, even Kishi's interviews at Jump Festa. Hinata has captivated a shit ton of people

I'll admit, before the pain arc I didn't really care much for her. That one moment was enough for me to go

You must be registered for see images

Exactly what I thought....Courageous girl!

"use logic" clearly is not an insult and should not be taken seriously..it's just a wake up call. Telling someone to "get a brain" - which implies they're stupid is different.

That is why I negged repped you.

This is the problem with Hinata fans right here. ^^^^^^^^^ Everyone see?

I am not dissing or bashing her, I haven't said one insult towards Hinata. All I've said is that she put a very big risk on Naruto and the village by doing what she did and that Minato was the main savior.

But of course people overreact and start getting annoyed because someone actually disagree's with their precious Hinata. it's almost a sin to disagree with anything she does.

Nothing to do with NaruSaku or anything like that. Sakura wasn't even brought up. So like I said before, kindly stay on topic.

"swimming against the tide". Sorry to break it to you but not everyone is going to have the same opionion as you or "the tide". The sooner you learn that the better.

This thread is not about pairings; it is about characteristics of a certain character; view characters as their own; not as pairing b*thes. The fact that someone dragged the thread in a pairing thread about Naruhina proves that Hinata has no stance as character on her own.

The problem is that Hinata's character is intrinsically bound to Naruto's by theming:

Hinata is Yin. Naruto is Yang.

And since the show is titled "Naruto" - we rarely see Hinata outside of her role independent of Naruto's (which is true of most other characters - the most "individual" development they've received is during the war arc - where we get a few panels following each of the K11).

Most of what we see of Hinata is her specifically filling her character's thematic role.

Which is why a lot of people find it difficult to separate the pairing aspect of Hinata from her independent actions. Her character was designed to interact with Naruto's and influence his character development at crucial times. Whether or not it means he'll end up impregnating her is another story.

We have to read between the lines to pick out Hinata's own accomplishments and independent activities. We see Hiashi's character do almost a complete 180 from his conversation with Kurenai regarding Hinata... when he's talking to Hizashi - he mentions how Hinata and Neji are fighting to protect each other (rather than simply the Branch protecting the Main). This indicates the fall-out from Neji and Hinata's fight - and the subsequent actions of Hinata (and Neji, likely) led to some sweeping changes in the Hyuuga clan.

If we were to follow Hinata's story - we would see similar cascading chains-of-events that stem from when she's had a 'strong interaction' with Naruto (such as the Chunin exams, Pain, and 'the slap'). But since the series isn't titled "Hinata" - we don't get nearly as much of that.

(But i find her portrayal of characteristics as degrading to women; and i have my certain reasonings.)

I do understand that point of view and it certainly has a solid foundation.

But that's not all there is to her. True there are people who like to fantasize about having their personal Hinata to make a love-slave of but, trust me, if Naruto was a slaver Hinata wouldn't be there loving him. My first girlfriend was a lot similar to her in many aspects and believe me when I say that it's not the "submission" side that is appealing, but the idea to receive such a sweet, innocent and passionate love. People who see a *** toy ready for action are shallow machists who don't understand women at all, and this sort of characters at all, either.

IN fact I am very fond of Hinata, he reminds me of her so much.

She is submissive, though, she is to his father especially, and she is timid to the point of stupidity.

That said, returning on topic NO, Hinata didn't save Naruto back there against Pain. She tried to, she failed, she ignited a chain of events that upturned the battle, but she had nothing to offer but a temporary meat shield.

I am not dissing or bashing her, I haven't said one insult towards Hinata. All I've said is that she put a very big risk on Naruto and the village by doing what she did and that Minato was the main savior.

No you aren't dissing or insulting, you are a debater way above such conducts, but you are blaming her to a point I find unreasonable. See my previous post.

Tsk Tsk.... I fear to correct u in case u neg rep when your able to do again.... I clearly said "Have a brain? use it with logic too.".... which is nothing but a request to use reasoning skill and foresight along with logic.... nothing d sort of insult ur are trying to be victim of..... it is a similar 'wake up call' as u say.

Here u go check the quote.....

No he wanted to extract Kyubi from Naruto, and possibly would not have let Naruto walk back home. After that he would have destroyed or conquered the world.

Have a brain? use it with logic too.

LoL..... and give Pein the chance to incapacitate Naruto and wisk him off to a unknown location? Plus mini Katsuyu slugs were reporting to everyone and no on seemed ready to come and help Naruto because of an dumb order.

................... Plainly anyone can see who is butthurt being corrected or as someone said owned.
